Nice to hear it played at concert pitch. When Capuzzi wrote this concerto, double bass was written at concert pitch, but nowdays it is written an octave below concert pitch (so in more modern music, a middle C on a double bass part is actually played an octave below middle C). Playing at concert pitch rather than transposed down the octave increases the difficulty of the piece immensely but sounds so much brighter and more energetic.

I’m playing it on euphonium and am supposed to listen to a double bass recording for reference and this is the only one I could find, thanks for uploading!
