I played the double-bass for nearly 40 years, but never attained to this level of skill. I have never understood the concept of solo works on the instrument that only involved crawling up the extreme reaches of the fingerboard, and almost never exploiting the wonderful sonorities of the instrument's lower register. I guess that's why I stuck to only playing in orchestras, and was very satisfied with that. This man's skill and sonority are admittedly amazing and wonderful. 👍👍👍

I could not love this more. The Schubert Arpeggione is my favorite work of his, and hearing it played so beautifully is like heaven. Thank you! Kudos to your pianist as well, as she is just right in the accompaniment. It is "simple" yet so exposed and intimate.
