Many thanks, the small ones can catch you out, really hard to spot sometimes got to have a good eye, pore filler really helps before you prime it fills the small soles and shows bigger ones, spreading out the filler before applying helps to get some air out of it, also force drying it can cause a bit of popping on the top of the filler then when you knock it off it can have micro holes underneath, i pretty much done all of the above, i didn't put enough hardner in the last skim so i lamped it, i was rushing and i mixed to much on the small board and didn't spend it out and forgot to pore fill it If you have a look a Gavin Pinks channel he talks about weighing the filler and hardener which would be a much better option for getting it more accurate and consistent

yeah a couple of times its got mega build a bit slower drying, tbh i forget sometimes about that option, I find CX2 & CX4 has the best gloss retention probably cos theres no thinners in it, but as long as the base coat is fully dried, CC9 has bit better gloss and polishes better, i tend to put a bit less thinner in 3-4% Ive just done a job with the new CC14 and the gloss is epic its the best mipa clear ive used so far

Cheers Jonathan sounds very similar to us, thats what we do and had to do on this job, i don't mind a few odd ones to be expected but there were loads of clusters on this repair 🤦‍♂️

Can't get door skins for this or many cars nowadays, didn't need a back door, it would of cost the customer a lot more money to put doors on it, the issues weren't with the damage it was down to my mistakes

​@@TheHumblePaintSprayer333 Jay what do know about paint curring heat lamp I see 2 mate one is large one on a hydraulic stand where it swings out and the other is on wheels with 2 heat lamps

I have looked at that before, most of the time i don't have a issue with the Evercoat filler but i made some errors, i didn't put enough hardener in the rage ultra and had to lamp it which didn't help

When the Labour to repair becomes more expensive than the part. The panel time, not stripping time or paint time on this job I charged 12 hours @£45 ph plus a bit of materials to repair both doors, a new front door was around £700 plus vat, you would save some hours on repair time but there’s some hours for strip and fit on a new panel If I can repair it I will because I’m selling hours and I’m saving them some money also I won’t get involved with sourcing second hand parts but I give the customer the option to supply their own parts which would be the cheapest option if you get a good panel in the right colour but there no guarantee on the parts not being repaired before Good comment mate 👍

Very debatable subject, filler can be applied over metal or epoxy, in this case I put it over metal it’s not a issue it’s applied as soon as it’s sanded

@@TheHumblePaintSprayer333 What if you made micro holes with a spotter and didn't notice and applied putty? Moisture will do its job from the inside

@@ukaszbas9758 It can put small holes in the metal but there wasn't any i could see, nothing showing on the inside either the pin holes were in other areas as well where i didn't pull, im sure it came from they way i mixed it and applied it and i didn't pore fill it 👍

@@TheHumblePaintSprayer333 In this case, I am not saying that you have holes in the primer, because they are from the putty. I am speaking generally about the bare metal itself, that if holes appear in the metal after the spotter and you don't notice, then you will put putty and corrosion will occur after some time. The putty like water very much and draws it up.
