That brings back a few memories! I remember when these cars were EVERYWHERE, you couldn't go more than a few minutes on any UK road without seeing them, especially the Escort and Fiesta. Ford seemed to have an iron grip on the UK market back then which has long since ceased to be the case now (Ze Germans have taken ova!)

It was the Escort MK4, which would be classed as a MK3 facelift these days. My first car was a MK4 Escort 1.3 L and my second was an XR3i. FYI the quick clear windscreen was out in the 80's I remember my mates Dad had an E reg Granada with it. The Scorpio was the top model Granada so it's not a mistake, they did a Scorpio Cosworth model too, which is why the RS accessories were available for the Granada.
