Man someone that painted that van back in the day they sure did a damn good job and it was a ton of work and skill to paint that and the owner of the van at that time had to pay a pretty penny to get that done too. Its a shame it ended up how it did.
Jason Guzman look at that black hood spoiler at 0:08 and that paint job, you can tell right away that the van was owned by a Mexican in California in the early 90s!
Those old vans are gaining in value ! We sold a 76 Dodge Customized van for $27,000 in July.. I bought it for $4800,rebuilt the engine, interior was very clean and original with shag rugs ...The paint was majority fine,we just repaired where it needed/blended it in and you couldnt tell...Van had 230,000 on it but was always garaged and never abused ! Even straight ,clean older cargo vans are worth money... Sadly that GM van was pretty far gone, but I restored worse vehicles..A 69 Charger RT was rusted, smashed and parts picked off..Now its a $85,000 appraised value Charger RT 440 Magnum/stroker 535 c.i with 752 hp and 893 torque ! Runs on pump 89 octane !!! low 9 second 1/4 mile car when she want to hook up !
List of vehicles being crushed. 1. Late 1970's chevy van 1978 to about 1982. 2. Chevy corsica. 3 1991-1996 Ford Escort. A 1995 model according to the junkyard markings on the passenger side rear door glass. 4. 1988-1992 pontiac Grand prix. 5. 1995 -2001 Saturn SL1 sedan.
@@katal003 I think 5th gen Grand prix's are pretty cool cars especially the later models and the special versions; the GTP, SE, And ASC Mclaren Turbo versions. highly underated cars, and they look cool in my opinion. He should restore it... Theyre worth restoring.
the sad thing is, each one of these cars was someone's pride and joy at one point. I remember when my sister and her husband bought their corsica. new. didn't even have 20 miles on it when I first rode in it. it was a neat little car, rode nicely all the way to texas and back. not too many left on the road now a days. and that grand prix. every one I see in a 2 door has broken exterior handles. these cars will never be considered classics. 30 years from now, people won't remember them. people will not be restoring them. kinda like my pinto. not hardly any left on the road, but when I take it out and about, people point and smile. "remember when we had one of those?" I hear that alot. and the kids these days think it's some kind of hot rod muscle car. it's not fast, not really desirable, but a ton of fun. and full of memories.
Nope. Glad to see that piece of shit G van destroyed. Especially if it was a Choo Choo custom van. Don't really care to see the L and W body cars crushed. But this is how it works. Out with the old to make way for the new.
I sold my G Van for this exact reason. The unitized framing was weak and they always bend right behind the front main crossmember. Then it failed miserably thus allowing the front bumper to contact the crusher floor.
It had the pre 1983 emblems on the front fender. 1978-1982 model plus I believe it says 20 which would make it a 3/4 ton. It has round headlamp buckets. Your 1984 should have had Square headlights.
I'd always heard Escorts were powered by lawnmower engines. I was surprised to see it was true at 3:48. Plus, what is it with Pontiacs and Wisconsin? I think every other video has a mid-90s Pontiac meeting its end. I test drove one like the car at 5:56. Decent enough, but I went with something else. Dad owned a Grand Am. Horrible paint job, as it was peeling after 5 years, but it had a surprisingly comfortable back seat for a 2-door. The engine went ka-boom after he'd owned it for awhile. Still, I liked that car.
Wow, those graphics were in great shape. Most of these vans faded and rotted years ago. Must have been garaged . If only you could show this video to the people who bought these cars new on the day they bought the cars.
i kno :( *sigh* the owner couldve bought a rebuilt 350 for the van to keep it rroad worthy seems like the owner of the van took very goood care of the van it looks GREAT on the outside
My recent observation of posted vdeo. 1. On the back of the van there is a tree growing out of the back bumper at 0:05. 2. Next observation on the van at 0:39 there is a childs preschool toy inside of the van. 3. at 4:03 there is a push lawnmower inside the engine compartment of the 1995 Ford Escort. 4. The Saturn SL1 sedan the space frame cars don't crush very well. And you can't push the doors inward very good with a forklift because you will just put a hole in the plastic panel. 5. Rear dor handles fr the Chevy Corsica are hard to access just cut through with a torch or sawazall.
@@kennethsouthard6042 that was the ldea behind those Saturn cars. Those came out when I was in high school and I went to the Auto Show at the local convention center and the salemen were encouraging people to punch the panels with their fists. I whaled on the deck lid of a 1993 SL2 sedan real hard. The thing bounced back! You couldn't punch the hood. It was made from regular steel like everything else.
To bad about the classic van man.Somebody could restore it or use parts of it..But I would not mind seeing any of the newer cars getting crush since they are junk to start with.
This kills me. The yard owner is always looking for more money for scrap but they throw aluminum in bundles. Frames on that van windows couldn’t be easer to remove for scrap.
Customized vans were a big deal when I was a teenager. Everyone wanted one. I knew a guy had an extended dodge van. Real nice inside. You could comfortably live in that thing. Real long though. A bitch to parallel park. LOL
1st car, kinda sad as its got some great decals on the side but its pritty much rusted out and has been well used like they all have, 2nd car looks like someone needed a new door handle so they just cur the whole thing off! pritty much rusted out and is something 80's 3rd car, something that has been picked clean of parts, 4th car wow no one took the spoiler? things gotta be worth at least 4 bucks maybe 5 on a good day, rest of the cars just a rusty junker, 5th car looked okay unless its engine was broken or its been in a crash on the other side,
I notice how many of these "street losers" have a "space saver spare" on them in a lot of the videos. Makes me think that getting a flat for the last time was just enough for the owner to junk the car. Nothing here was a "classic" anything, until the owner figured it was a P.O.S. and screwed him around for the last time.
To me that always was an indicator of many things. 1. People who just dont want to or can't put money into their car. 2.Usually an indicator of the last owner of a car. We were going to get new tires at tax time but the transmission went. 3. Usually an indication of someone who makes less than 25,000 a year or a college or high school student or a retiree who is on fixed income and has to work part time as a Walmart greeter. 4.Or a fixed income person it was there final car before assisted living or the nursing home and the car like them was on their final journey.
