Car Dealers CAN'T SELL EVs Anymore, So Now They're SCRAPPING Them!

The electric vehicle (EV) revolution seemed to be in full swing, but the road ahead has hit a speed bump. With waning consumer interest and automakers pressing pause on ambitious electrification plans, dealers are finding themselves in a pickle - stuck with unsold EVs and facing the difficult decision of how to offload them. Let's explore the top five reasons behind this shift in the EV landscape.
Sluggish Sales
The Early Adopter Rush is Over Initially, dealers relished the opportunity to sell EVs, as early adopters eagerly snapped them up. High demand and supply chain hiccups allowed dealers to command hefty markups, making EVs an easy money-maker. However, the tides have turned. The early adopter phase is over, and the mainstream market remains hesitant, deterred by affordability concerns and perceived inconveniences compared to gasoline-powered cars. With demand cooling and production ramping up, a supply glut has emerged, leaving dealers struggling to clear their lots.

The large OEMs cannot sell their overpriced products. Teslas are too good and reasonable in price. The model Y is the best-selling car in the world. Tesla can reduce prices to compete destroying the competition. The EV advantage is, with solar panels, you can make your own energy keeping profit from the Russians and Saudis.

EVs are too expensive, EV recharging is not convenient or readily available, EV range anxiety, and EV range is drastically reduced in winter,

The Tesla 3 is in the low $30k range including the federal subsidy. Tesla Superchargers are abundant. Range anxiety is an unrealistic fear. Tesla's give up about 15% of range in the coldest conditions. ICEVs also lose range in cold weather.

1. EVs cannot replace our current gasoline-powered vehicles because our country does not have the infrastructure to support them. 2. The charging cables get stolen by crackheads because they're made of copper! 3. Most, if not all of them, have a very poor range! 4. They are still powered by fossil fuels via the power plants, even though people are too dumb to understand that! 5. Get into a minor fender bender, and the insurance company will total your entire vehicle! What happens to that waste? That's not very friendly to the environment, not to mention the children mining the materials for the EV batteries! 6. There aren't enough mechanics to work on them!

Looking around here in rural Thailand, I can’t believe the video. More and more crappy Chinese EVs are on the streets here. I wonder how long it takes for people to learn how low the quality is and how dangerous those Chinese cars are. Protecting your hands when auto-closing the trunk? Nope, they cut off your fingers. Unlocking all doors on accidents? Nope, many people were burnt to death bc their Chinese EVs would open. Well, what do you expect from companies just a few years old, when comparing to companies with decades of knowledge of building cars.

@@tomc.2808 There are at least two companies now recycling EV batteries. Redwood Materials, founded by JB Strable one of the original Tesla guys, has a plant operating in Nevada and is building a second South Carolina. Right now there are very few used EV batteries to recycle. But there are batteries that come out of the manufacturing process that don't meet standards. Those unusable batteries are now being recycled in Nevada and fed back into the Panasonic battery factory located in Tesla's Reno gigafactory.

Dealers don't want to sell EVs. There's no future money to be made on ICE maintenance and repairs. Buyers don't want to buy EVs from legacy companies. They are not that good and too expensive. Tesla and several Chinese EV makers are selling EVs like hotcakes. They bring quality and value. In China about 50% of all new car sales are EVs. The ICEV is dying rapidly. The Tesla Y is the best selling car in the world. Whoever made this video is ignorant or intentionally misleading.

they could if they didn't cost so much but thats the trouble with all cars and trucks. the way i drive a EV would be good for me. i drive maybe 200 miles a month. and thats only if it rains or cold outside. or i need the bed of my truck. and then its usually 25 miles at the most. i just dont drive that much anymore. but i cant afford one. and if i can find a used one in my price range it needs new batteries. and then its out of my price range again.

everybody blames in cars with emissions but in fact, its not. Don't you know on the average, every second, there are approx 50000 airplanes flying over you, one long haul flight flying approx 12 hours will burn 20000 pounds of fuel, and 24 hours 40000 pounds of fuel, do the math yourself how much fuel is burnt all day long by the 50000 air planes. air planes emits huge amount of co2 in the upper atmosphere destroying it. using electricity on cars is of no use at all to reduce emissions because you need to burn fuel in generating electricity and it generates more emissions unless every country uses nuclear power but that is not possible. Stop making EVs and start reducing the number of flights in the air everyday.

@@777guitarplayer 1. You don't tell us what your country is so I can't judge whether your country has a functioning grid. If you live in a severely underdeveloped country then people, in general, may not have a place to plug in. But that is not the case in a developed country or most developing countries. If you do happen to live in, say, a rural area of an African country there's always the option of solar panels which will be cheaper than buying fuel. 2. Cable stealing is not common and controllable. 3. Some EVs have poor range. Some have more range that most people need. Buy what you need 4. Bogus. Even if EVs were charged using 100% coal generated electricity they would cause less environmental damage than ICEVs run on oil. And there aren't 100% fossil fuel grids. 5. Bogus. And EV batteries are recyclable. About 95% of the material in batteries is recovered and used to make new batteries. 0% of fuel burned in an ICEV is reusable. 6. Any mechanic that works on ICEVs can do most of the work needed for EVs. Change tires. Fill windshield wiper bottles. Change wiper blades. There's a very small need for shops that can work on the battery system and shops are opening as the need arises. But there's almost no need. If you want to pay more to drive. And if you are comfortable with knowing that you are part of the reason the planet is warming and people are dying, well, sleep well.

You’re a little out of touch…. Nobody wants to pay $100,000 for a vehicle that won’t drive across the country nonstop and has an expected lifespan five years or less because of main battery quality control issues and the incredibly high cost of insuring electric vehicles….🙄

Tesla 3. Less than $35k including the federal subsidy. There are no vehicles that drive across the country nonstop. The batteries now being used have much longer useable lifespans than gas engines and transmissions. Insurance rates are based on the cost of the car. All the EV range anyone needs is their tummy/bladder range. Eat breakfast. Drive. Plug in when you stop for lunch. Drive. Plug in when you stop to pee. Notice how you didn't have to make a stop to fill up your gas tank?
