Couldn’t stop smiling. By far the best TR 6 video I’ve seen…and I’ve seen A LOT! So, so happy for you. ✊🏼

I owned a 1970 TR-6 just like that one, same Navy Blue with light Blue interior. I loved it but I had to get rid of it after 18 months because it had too many failures. Bought it new for about $3000 May 1970 and put in another $1800 over 18 months. Fun car, sexy and powerful. My friend had a Fiat 124 spider brand new and we used to race on the Interstate (max speed 115). We were crazy. I am glad I got that out of my system at an early age! Thanks for the video and the memories!

I'm 7 years old and my parents buy a brand new 59 Bug Eye Sprite. Yay Mom and Dad. 2 years later it turns into a year old Healy 3000. Dad fit in that a little better. They kept it until I was a young 15. Thanks folks...my first car at 16 was a very well used 56 MGA and I loved it. Didn't know how to take care of cars very well back then. I later had a nice 78 Fiat 124 Spyder that wasn't so bad. Fast forward to today...my love of sports cars is still just as strong as when I was a kid. I'm semi retired now and about to turn 70 in August and watching your video helped me make my decision on what to but myself. Thanks for a great video and keep having fun with those cars. And just an aside...your Monaco Gran Prix shirt...I attended the Gran Prix in Monaco in 1976 while in the Army. Such a thrill and is my favorite car race I've ever been to!

Your story moved me. My father and I bought a '72 TR6 in 1997 as a father-son project and he passed one year later. I still have it and carry on the spirit. God bless and enjoy! Oh - fix that tach and paint that rear end black!! :)

I consider myself a TR6 expert. Adjustable Koni's on the front set at number two. Factory bushings, 3/4 valves on lever shocks in the rear. 205 70 R15 Michelins all-round. High-tensile shear pin on the throwout bearing lever. Now she will have an intimate relationship with the road and not beat herself to death. Do whatever power upgrades you want. Include a pentronix electronic ignition. I've had three of them, my last one sold for $22,500- that's nice.

Great story with great pictures. Wished to hear some more engine sound - one of the best things about the TR6! But... the design is actually German by Karmann, based on Michelotti's TR4/5 design (this was Italian). Keep on driving!

I'm probably dad's age. I turned 16 and got my DL in 1973. I was able to afford a 1964 TR4 and I drove that for several years. But I really wanted a TR6, but never could afford one. The TR6 to me was like that girl you really wanted to date but she was a little bit out of your league. I still fall in love all over again every time I see a TR6 today.

What a gorgeous, car! Hope mine looks that beautiful one day, and can't wait to get it on the road again. Guys I will give you a little piece of advice, do yourselves a favour and keep those redline tires as a spare set for show and shines and Pick up yourselves a second set of modern radial sport tires. After surviving a blowout in a pair of Coker Vintage Redlines at over 80KM an hour and narrowly missing a tree (when the car fishtailed off the road) I said never again, and picked up a set of modern sport tires 205 65 15's. It was the best decision, and best modification I could have done to the car to improve handling. Yes they don't quite have the vintage look ideal for shows, but the handling and peace of mind they give you on the road driving your "baby" are well worth the sacrifice. If you really want that old school look, you can always pick up a set of tire lettering kits from Treadwear or Tire stickers, like I have on mine. They have any font you could imagine, and also carry red wall kits for those who want that original old school look as well. Cheers

I seen you link for this on Grassroots Motorsports and this is a very well done video and great story about this father and son that really love this car. Very good work in editing and the video work. The drone work and the following the car around was very well done. Also neat story about the car and its history also.

Second worst car I ever drove back then except for a Dodge Duster whose seat cut off all circulation below my buttocks. So that car with decent seats was probably better than that TR6. This occurred when a good friend of mine who worked at the largest import dealer in town asked me if I wanted to drive to Dallas to deliver a TR6. I said sure and we took off that night. First thing we discovered is that we could not sit in the car with the windows up without leaning into each other. If we wanted ton sit normally in the seats, we had to let our outside arms dangle over the window sills to sit in the seat normally, which meant the side windows had to be down. The ride was bloody awful with harshness for no reason. Noise was at an unlivable level as I think there was no insulation in the car. The performance from the I6 was mediocre, even for that time. It probably was the roughest I6 I ever drove back then, maybe even worse than the Ford OHV one in the base Mustangs. It was no BMW or Mercedes or Alfa I6, for sure. The transmission and clutch were too heavy for the power and too indistinct and seemingly unsynchronized for the shifts. We were beat up 2.5 hrs. later when we arrived in Dallas. Basically a really bad version of a MGB. Luckily we swapped into an Alfa Romeo 2000 Guilia for the drive back. Quiet, comfortable, fast with a heavenly 5-speed and great seats and plenty of room in front. Never could see why anyone would pay money for that car. TR7, Jensen Healy, any Lotus, Alfa Romeo Spider and the later Datsun 2000 roadster were so much better. The last two were my favorite from that era along with the larger XKE.

Sadly from 2030 on all the combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in EU :-( In Germany the Green party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one single station per city or county...allmost same story with the USA (califorina banns combustion cars from 2027 on and stops selling fuel and oil...)
