Trying to sell a few cars and then this happens... also, An honorable mention about Old Bratt Rider Where to find ethanol free fuel in the, U.S. & Canada, www.pure-gas.org/ & more./..
Well it is time to stay away from those old cougars. haha. I am downsizing a few yard tractors this years as I live in town. I get that. I think the new Craftsman tools have already dropped in quality. Thanks for the gas tip!! Up here in Canada ethanol fuel is still easy to find. Your a good man for standing by your stuff.
That's a clever play on words my friend, I like it...the Craftsman tool thing has probably already began, I heard of it some time ago... Thanks Bruce, I appreciate you saying...
That's a Tuf spot to be in. Transmission went on my minivan and it wasn't worth fixing. If it wasn't the wife driving and the same thing happened to me when trying to sell it I would have thought the same thing. No warning that the tranny was going. I got a 2017 Silverado to replace the minivan. At least you're getting something for the truck.
This could have been internal failure, but I don't feel that was the issue. I may never be sure. & yeah it's not a total loss...so there's that... lol Sounds like you upgraded to a nice rig. Thanks for sharing brother.
Anything is possible but I would have done the same thing. You did the honorable thing. I wouldn't feel right about that sale. If it happened a little later then all bets are off.
i grew up on $100 cars...cant not find them....the cougar whis i was closer i'd take her in a heart beat...good to see a video buddy. is the cougar a 2 door?....did i tell ya i like campers too....lol sad watching America changing....grew a beard....longer than yours....gotta have a beard to ride a harley.....rofl keep us abreast on gardening....i just potted some starter flowers for the house...dang squirrels keep eating the ones i planted last yr....aGAIN THIS YR I seen them digging ugg
Yeah it's a 2 door. & needs some love. but runs and drives well. I traded a boat for it about 10 years ago, lol The camper belongs to some friends. he stays in it at night when the weather is real bad so he doesn't have to go all the way home. ( Snow & Ice thing ) Thanks Rob,...
Yes, I already heard about crapsman tool deal, they aren't "what they use to be" anyway, so no huge loss. I have two tool boxes full of them and I'm hoping Stanley will make them better than they are now, like they USE to be! That kid would have HATED me, I tell EVERYONE who buys something from me, think hard before paying me, cuz I won't take anything back once it leaves here...then again I don't lie or cheat buyers, and if they want to test it, I go with them. You were pretty darn nice to that kid. SR
I hope you're right about the Craftsman thing, better quality would be nice... As for the car deal. Thanks...It was the kids 1st car ever & I felt kind of bad for him right from the start. I knew the car had issues, but also knew it would run well for him. Had he not abused it straight away. I appreciate you saying,... Cheers
Wow, no more Craftsman. First I heard of it. Yah he did. Only 3 ways you can wipe a bearing, no oil, high rpm, or excessive force on it. I'm sure it has oil in it because he made it back. so the other two you can use your imagination. I'd say overheating but with a high mileage motor, loosey goosey never seized up.
Yeah, all the fluids were fine, She was old & tired... could have probably grandpa'd her around for a few more years. But she gave up the ghost today. Thanks Prancsta, I believe you know what happened...lol
They just started selling ethanol free gas at our local Kwik Trip here in town. I'm happy for that. Too bad about the car deal, but it does happen. I have had it happen to me... Glad you stood by it.
I never knew that about Craftsman,, I prefered their tools over all the others, I like the flat ratchet handles. hard to say about the car, I do know kids want to see how fast a car will go or how long a black mark they can lay. lol at least I used to be that wqy, good to see you back on now, I never see you on the road to your work since my wife got a car I don't have to take her to work and go getter,, lol
I like them too, they've always served me well. I was thinking that I hadn't seen you lately, was wondering why that was. I guess you have more time to stay home and work on your projects. YAYAH !
i hate selling cars just for that reason, the last one i sold i got beat up bad on. the guy blew the engine a month later and had the nerve to call me asking if i had a extra engine
