Oh my gosh, thank you so much! I've never had that much trouble with LATCH but now that my son is too heavy to use it and we are switching to a forward facing booster with a harness, I have to use the seat belt to anchor the booster and I was getting so discouraged with how loose it was despite all my efforts. The recline option is definitely going to help!
This is great! I've been doing the seat recline trick for years and I've always wondered if it was okay. I was going to ask during my certification course but I trust you and I'll keep doing this to save myself some time and effort! :)
i'm a car seat installer, you've managed to teach me something new with the recline trick, but... on most cars it is difficult to get the top tether tight if you do it last, i find it much easier to actually start with it and then do the base, can you also please make a vid on using these metal brackets for general seatbelt installations? i'm having trouble with that
I am not aware of any that specifically prohibit it. There are some vehicle and car seat manufacturers who state in the beginning of the installation process to make sure the vehicle seat back is upright - in talking with several of these manufacturers, this statement is there to remind parents that the seat back needs to be upright while driving... but that doing the recline trick is OK so long as the seat back is put upright at the end of the installation.
