cnet.co/1t7bzjO The 2014 Land Rover LR4 is the last of the chunky, square Land Rover left in North America. Let's see if it can still mix stylish elegance with off-road pedigree.
These are great off-road. I’ve had mine in the Australian high country, in the sandy desert dunes and along long stretches of rough outback road. All in super comfort.
***** Well, you are entitled to your own opinion and I am entilted to disagree with you:) One man's meat is another man's poison after all. Hope you'll find the car you think is reliable and go on your merry way!
Have an 16 LR4 HSE, love it, the only car I can drive without dodging pot holes in New York City, and I do agree with the throttle response comment, but it's a truck you will learn how to plan your moves on the highways few steps ahead, and how to use the brakes less.
That button isn't for "rear differential lock". The locking diffs in the LR3/LR4 are completely automatic. There is no direct user control. The various Terrain Response modes affect when the lock is automatically used, but that is the extent of your control. What was being confused for a diff lock button is related to keeping the Land Rover in "access height" with its air suspension.
Great video as always. Im very tempted to get one over an X5 that would suit me better in day to day. This is not the nicest LR/RR but definitely my favorite.
When he says “the seats go more or less flat” and then shows folding down the rear seats, he doesn’t seem to know how to actually lower (not just fold down) the second row seats, which makes the whole rear TOTALLY flat behind the driver and front seat passenger...
He obviously does not know the car very well as he has no idea of how to fold the second row completely flat - it's simple, just pull the tag on the front of the seat and it goes flat to the floor.
They are a luxury off road car that can actually go off road. And are considered one of the best off road vehicles there is. 50k is reasonable for one considering what it can do.
The production of this show is to great for 720p60fps. You need to be at least 1440p60fps. You are the best car show for some laid back top notch car tech show
One of these entered an accident a few yrs ago & it split in half,I was a witness to that & have the pics for proof on my FB.I would expect it hold up better for being quality.
Great video, I love your model has the Arabia brown seats, and would love a supercharged version only twin turbos in the Uk, but had ecu remapped and now running at 300bhp instead 255, I have special edition landmark, which sits between HSE and HSE lux, I do have full roof bars surround sound TVs screens in back of front head rests, Windsor leather facings but Wade control 360 all round cameras auto front light dimming and cool box is all options on on landmark special edition of I have and late 2016 last one JLR made, regards mark
twistedsolomanboy Me too dude 6' 1" to be exact and not a problem. Some folks will find the smallest things to complain about. I don't have a problem with collapsing my rear seats either kinda fun to me.
I totally desgarre with you on the gauges comment , I have the same discovery and I can see all the gauges from any position , I'm 6,2" , is just a meter of adjust the steering wheel and seat . That's the problem when you make public comments in something that you don't know !
+Art S Two available engines come from Ford, some rather big components. I was also surprised to see the Evoque had a 2.0L Ecoboost engine under the hood.
What's the point of 60fps? I rather 1080p... Is it off-focus-bad filming skill or just my monitor??? If not for the CNET badge, I thought my sight is bad today!!!
Leo the Weirdo LEDs are dimmed by turning them on and off very quickly. So when you record it, the camera will pick up times when it is switched off hence the flashing.
Sun roof is good enough, Nothing good about panoramic roof, dangerous if wood fall on the roof, squeaky sound when you turn & drive upward to the junction, hot during sunny day, leaking chances are very high if the internal drain pipe block up.. 😀
It's a shame the tdv6 engines in them is like playing Russian roulette when you drive it because eventually bang snapped crank they should of done the v8td the same in range rovers
Cooley has the right to complain about this vehicle, because Land Rovers are unreliable, according to Consumer Reports. When the interface fails, the audio, Bluetooth phone, climate, and navigation won't work. If he were to have a Land Rover break down on him, he would be so mad about calling a tow truck to get it fixed.
The 90's? Wasn't it just last year they were @ the bottom of the list for reliability in Europe & Consumer reports?...If you like the vehicle buy it,but don't downplay the fact that these vehicles don't last as you'd like it too without spending money here & there.
60k isn't all that bad, isn't the new Escalade like 75k?. I'd get it for that much only if I knew there wasn't a redesign around the corner. They should preserve this design the way Mercedes Benz does with their G suv. I'd just replace that infotainment system with a tablet or something because that's awful. Also for that price you can get a beautifully equipped Jeep Grand Cherokee, with better everything basically.
Its hard to believe that people will pay that much for a car that is put together so poorly. 67,000.00 would be a lot of money to me and I know I wouldn't want to even pay half of that for such a mix car.
My mom has a 2008 LR3 with the 4.4L V8, A 6 speed automatic, & it's such a gas guzzler. One of the worst MPG ratings for the class of SUVs it competed with at the time
TO THE CONSUMER... My LR3 was an unreliable pain on my pocket and in the a$$ (pause). I had an '05 and only got a little over $2k for it on trade in. If you MUST have a Land Rover, lease it then unload that money pit.
Taking the Mick, can't make efficient cars, find a problem with someone who can, VW for instance. Compare the mpg with a Ford pick up the biggest smile gas guzzler on the planet, and have the neck to ask for compensation, for giving you a better class of car, sad people.
Anyone who buys Land Rover and Range Rover over a 4 Runner or LandCruiser is an idiot unless you're a vapid celebrity who needs to flaunt their status symbol at award ceremonies and never gonna go offroad in which case the Porsche Cayenne is a better bet.
