Wow these changes are radical. The fact that it has a twin turbo system is huge. Great horsepower and torque numbers for a c class. I'm not exactly a fan of the back because it looks too short, but the shape is still nice. I saw one of these on the highway a few weeks ago with a dealer plate and it looked stunning. You still can't beat the styling of the w210 '96 e class chassis. That looks like a proper luxury car.
Man this in Europe they are like 15k € used with 150k kilometers = +/- 93k miles But the salary in Europe arent the same that in US Here the normal salary is from 150€ a week to 400/600€ a week (in the rich countrys) and the prices are equal to the prices in USA, from food to houses So I would prefere pay the full price in America with the average salary there. Europe is like America in 1991 🙄😂
How come Cnet doesn't talk about the processors and memory of the onboard computer? A lot of those damn things are slow, I'd like to know how they stack up.
$60,000 for a c class?!? How is that affordable? Also could we get back to showing the price and options of the car towards the end of the video please. It's much better.
Comparing with a similarly equipped BMW 335 xDrive, the C400 4MATIC is actually a bit cheaper. The C-Class appears to be expensive because initially only the high trims were introduced. There are cheaper models now and pricing is on par with competitors, except at the very low end MB does not offer low-output turbo-4 models like BMW 320 and A4 CVT
They took away the C250 which was the most affordable C-Class. Its still in production with the new W205 models but not sold to USA. Europe even has a really inexpensive new C-Class the C200, never to see the light of the day in the Western hemisphere.
I noticed the windshield issue mentioned at 4:40 when i test drove the w205. Those were very early models. It is strange that the same issue still exists? I read from net that the defect only concerns US made cars as the windshields in those cars are made by an US subcontractor. However, i test drove the car with the defective windshield in Europe. But again the test drive cars were early versions.
Seem to remember similar comments during your review of the new Genesis regarding the head up display wonkiness...eye exam upcoming?? Love all your reviews btw.
Some may say it's a good thing, but I really don't like this same design, different length philosophy. Its the same thing that used to piss me off with Audi but now Mercedes is doing it. Like you really can't tell if it's a C,E or S class till you look at it from the side profile. I miss the days where each car had its own character. I also don't like the stupid Nav systems, they look so aftermarket and cheesy with the meter-wide bezels. You might as well stick an iPad mini right onto the dash. What happened to the days of the beautifully integrated nav screens?
This is an extremely nice car, but it's almost intruding on the E class (especially in terms of price). Also, this video seems a bit short and cut off.
The E-Class starts at $51,800, and that is for a 4 cylinder diesel with vinyl seats. To get an E-Class with this engine, you would start at $62,000, nevermind the media, pano roof, etc.
All the numbers on Mercedes have become irrelevant over the last couple generations. The C63 and E63 don't have 6.3 liter engines and the S550 has a 4.7 liter while the S65 only has a 6.0 liter.
That year selector on the wiper blade steering column freaks me out - is he worried for my wife to drive that - hoping someone can't accidentally throw it in reverse or park on the freeway
c class is not a kia or Honda or Camry .there' s a lot of tech in these cars you don't see.Take the transmission ,start stop ,headlights with their own mind etc.
+duane howard dude, kias these days have start stop, nav, hid adaptive headlights, forward collision, and... a transmission. MB's price tags are because of brand and country
duane howard Unless the kia gets like a 3 star or less, the crash wont be drastically different. Do you think kias are made of cardboard or someshit? Some kias are bigger than the c class, and may even be better for safety. Stop blindly defending your badge, or come up with some actual proof
The new C class E class and S class all look too similar now. They just like different sizes of the same car. I'm talking about exterior, interiors are different.
craqqer The S and C, I agree, very similar. I parked next to an S550 recently, and aside from the obvious size difference, it took me a second to realize it was an S, not a C. The E is still a bit more angular.
If I am not mistaking, CNet did a review on the Kia Soul long time ago. I was remembering it had some tacky cabin lights. Now turns out Mercedes Benz has the same lights, in their new cars and now its cool. To me it still very tacky! Mercedes copying Kia's options? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
it is not bad considering this car is a c class I thank this car is cool because there are more technology in todays cars than in the past c class Mercedes Benz. the car warns you if you are out of the lane by making the steering wheel vibrates or moving the car out of the lane. 0-60 in 4.6 sec. but the bad thing about the car is that when you are moving the car the navigating and the speedometer that is on the wind shield gets blurry
Golden Boy92 they are the same car with same engine. the real difference is that the C450/C43 AMG has a little more HP and is stiffer and has a better exhaust note.
Mb789x I cross shopped the 435 myself, and went with the C400 as well. The 435 is a far more 'tossable' car, but the c400 is much better to live with day to day. no regrets, favorite car I've ever owned.
Those are not very impressive numbers, two turbo chargers on a 3 liter v6 and only 329 hp? Cadillac's 3.6 v6 makes 321 without turbos, and their twin turbo v6 makes 420 hp.
.6 liters smaller is a big difference in those engines. Besides, look at the torque figures if you really want to understand the performance of this car vs. a CTS. This will eat both CTS engines alive. And it isnt much slower than a supercharged V8 CTS.
Brent Booth How will this "eat them alive" if the Caddy's engine's bigger, has more torque and hp. Cadillac's is 420 hp and 430 torque. Also keep in mind that the CTS is quicker than this, which considering that the cts is a bigger car overall is impressive. And don't get ahead of yourself, this is over half a second slower than a cts-v which is quite a bit if you want to break it down.
love this car but the way the screen is so oddly placed is very ridiculous. why can't benz just change it? is it to cut costs? well, the audi's navi screen is able to stow away, the bmw's is built into the dash..c'mon seriously. almost a slap in the consumer's face in this price point lol. this actually bothers me b/ this car was in my budget and i was honestly going to purchase this but decided to go with the audi s4. why? b/ I looked into the 2016 Benz C450 amg and wow man---they STILL did not change the design/placement of the screen. yea, it might be a small detail but the screen is in your face and something you have to look at every time you drive the car. this design aesthetic alone made me decide NOT to buy this car and simply ruins the otherwise beautiful interior design. what a shame. 2016 audi s4 it is>>>>
+MUH FACKS I completely agree with you. Why are all the screen in new cars placed on top of the dash? It looks so out of place and forced. I prefer it much more before when the screens were nicely tucked in behind the dash, where they were glare free. They also didn't look forced and out of place.
Cooley..uncool shortened video. That floating Nav screen looks like they took a low end Android $49 tablet and stuck it in a Mercedes. I dont know how for years...this is condoned by Mercedes and cinsumers. Garbage
