Don't forget a Dutch 'volunteer' is trained to the same level as someone full time. Dutchies like to go with high education for our emergency services

My son is a voluntary fire fighter as well ..he works 40 hrs a week his regular job ..the past few weeks we had alot of forest fires going on ..he has been working 16 to 20 hours a day ..8 hrs job and the rest fires ...crazy .. he has had weeks with 19 calls so thats 2/3 calls a day ..next to his job ....his dad was a volunteer as well for 20 yrs...my son joined the juvenials at age 12 to 18 and as of age 18 they can join the seniors .... am proud of all volunteers in all disciplines ..👍

I was watching this when my pager started beeping. I was called out for a housefire. :-) I'm also a Dutch volunteer firefighter.

In Holland most of the fireman/womens are volunteers only in the big cities or in some regions what is called special regions there is a what we call "active station" what means 24 hour man power and people who are full time firefighters.. in Holland we have around 26.900 firefighters and a little more then 80% of them is voluntary! this means the stations don't have 24 hours a day firefighters there. but they do have the beeper on them when its there shift to be on call! And they will leave there jobs houses or what ever they are doing emidiatly when the beeper goes!The volunteers in Holland get the same training as the "full-time" firefighters 🚒

HCX. MOST OF THESE MEN AND WOMEN ARE VOLUNTEERS, THAT'S WHAT'S SPECIAL. Normaal PEOPLE WHO JUST WORK AND THEN DO VOLUNTEER TRAINING FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, OFTEN CARRY OUT PART OF THEIR OWN BUT HAVE A HEART OF GOLD FOR THE MEMBERS, AMAZING OR NOT THEM.WE MAY BE VERY THANKFUL FOR THEM THE FRIEND

Because you had a little laugh at the sentence "Do we have all the pawns in?", I thought you might not know: _Pawns_ (or "pion" in dutch) is a nickname for the traffic cones. So he wasn't asking if all his colleagues were in, but rather if they gathered all their safety equipment back up.

In construction work we have a quite similar preplanning, designated people who deal with security, and everyone is trained to recognise risks and to prioritize what is needed to be done in case of an emergency. To plan and organise to prevent at the source and calculate risks. It's very meticuoulsly organised in the netherlands.

Long time ago there was a fire by us but lucky we live next to the fire department so the where faster then us to call them. They saw it earlier 😁😄

The bikes also show how Dutch they are . Keep up the good work tho , I bet everyone in the Netherlands loves what they are doing! But how on earth do you get your car upside down , if you are in collision with an another car its possible you end up on ur roof.

You were impressed by the planning in the truck while en route "these are volunteers"". Our volunteers (actually part time fire fighters") get the same training and have to meet the same standards as the full time fire fighters. There is no difference between part time fire fighters and full time fire fighters. Althoug, full time fire fighters do their training while on duty. The part time fire fighters do their training in their own time.

Ehm, excuse me, but that DOOR, from where the firefighters depart?....that thing is so slow! Especially with FIRE fighters one would expect a FAST door, yeah?! Just a thing that caught my eye.
