This was amazing to watch you do the great job that you do. Much love for all of the men and women out there putting their lives on the line and keeping the rest of us safe. Much love Jan-Willem!
Pancake: a dutch civilian got a fine voor calling a policeman pannenkoek. He took it to court and won. Judge ruled it not to be a swear word. Now every uses it.
@@tijmen5355 Myeah you could get a fine but most of the time it doesn't happen, Though it happens alot more in like problematic areas with "Hang jeugd/Probleem jongeren" or with Hooligans and stuff like that.
Woow, your Dutch is progressing! (reading that title!!) Yeah, Jan Willem is a famous policeman here, everybody likes his vlogs. Well not everybody... certain criminals don't 🤣
Even people who do not like police know Jan-willem and respect him to a certain extent, he is so chill but stern, rather gives a warning than a fine, but he also doesnt let you fuck around with him
My husband was a sergeant in the Dutch police for 30 years so I know what these guys do. You must have respect for these guys when you see what they are up against some times.
something you might find interesting is that fleeing from the police is an offense but isnt punishable in the netherlands, however, every offense you forgo while doing so is. think of running a red light, speeding, endangering the public, etc. even though they drop many of those charges if you didnt cause damage or public danger, its probably beter to flee on foot if you do. the reason for this is because fleeing is instinctual.
I love the vlogs of Jan-Willem. Like you said, he picks great music and they're giving a great insight into the work of the Dutch police. People often complain that police officers should go catch thieves when they get a ticket for a traffic violation, or they ask whether they have nothing better to do. These vlogs show that they do catch the bad guys, but they also get you when you break the rules. Great respect for the police as well as the other emergency services, who often risk their lives in order to keep yours safe.
Yes. And 80% of police work is boring stuff like noise complaints and cars blocking exits. But better resolve it before neighbors are going to use violence against each other. It is a good sign that one shift isn't filled with an armed robbery, a terror attack and an airplane crash.
Big THUMBS 👍👍up to our POLICE 👮 🚨 who do a fantastic JOB, RESPECT. It's pretty scary and dangerous. Especially if children are involved. Like that mother who was held, no responsibility...terrible. Bad example, those people should be in Therapy!!! I'm glad I live in a quiet neighborhood. And if there is a party, we are asked if that is allowed 🔝 Look like that he should 🤍 Most of the time I give permission, because I know my neighbors well. Was interesting again. Thank You 🇳🇱🙋🏼♀️
There is actually a lot of house parties happening and neighbors usually do come by and ask, but the music gets turned down when they visit, then gets turned up again within the hour xD
I think that there are a lot more noise complaints now, because people stay more at home due to COVID! Bars and restaurants close at 5 pm, it is part of a mini lockdown. So some people party at home and annoy their neighbours, who are also a lot more at home.
Why we say ''Pannenkoek'' is because of a sentence in old dutch, pannetje which means or refers to your brain. When we say ''die is niet goed in zijn pannetje'' it means ''that dude is just crazy in his head'' . It's not really about the pancake thing hahah
I had a feeling you'd like this one when I put it in the requests. I'm glad the subtitles worked out. If Mandy did them. Thanks! I'll trow some more jan Willem on the list for you but this one is one of the most intense videos of him.
Ghost rider: driving in the opposite direction then you should on that lane. It's sorta difficult to explain, but 'spookrijders' cause a lot of deadly accidents due to the fact people don't see them or cannot avoid them at the speeds they're driving.
@@JoshSweetvale not totaly tru tho as oncoming traffic can be legal. spookrijdne (driving on the worng side of the road on the motorway is defenetly not legal
"I've been tempted to kick in my own door, but i never done it" 🤣 You shouldnt! Most times you can open it yourself, if some door opening skilles are learned.
hey highty cambustibie, wrong-way driving is a sign that a car is driving on the wrong road, so I'm driving against traffic, I want to compliment you on how you look at our Dutch police and your comment is super nice
Ghostrider is very scary, it's a ghost, because it hits you without you expecting it....it is coming in front of you....very scary....it's the Ghostrider!
A ghost rider is someone who has sold his soul to the devil and is send out to fight against the sinners. The most noticeable one is Jonathan(Johnny) Blaze played by Nicholas Cage in the movie Ghost Rider. BTW its also used as a term for someone who drives on the wrong side of the road
I like this video because the area Jan-Willem is working in is the same that Iive in. I've actually been in that building around 5:00 because I worked as a delivery driver dor Domino's.
A ghost rider is someone going in the wrong direction on the highway. our highways are some times only two lanes and a bank so there is almost no where to go when you are surpriced by one.
I have so much respect for societies with police forces that show respect to the perps. And I mean respect for who they really are as humans, while quite firmly disallowing the dysfunctional behavior. And, really, this means the entire society has that mindset. In a way, police forces are influenced by citizens' mindsets.
It's possible that he - riding a one-man patrol - is assigned reports with a low chance of escalation, hence many noise-complaints. A single officer is usually enough to have people reduce the noise. BTW a "ghost-rider" ("spookrijder") is the Dutch name given to those that drive on the wrong side of the road, usually but not exclusively on roads with separated lanes like highways
The Netherlands is on of the most densely populated countries in the world, definitely in Europe. On top of that, most people don't know their neighbors, so it isn't that easy to ask them to be quiet, as you don't know what they're like. Plenty of agressive idiots that you don't want to deal with. Edit: As Para Gon mentioned, some people are just assholes and will call the cops over nothing, we call them vinegar pissers. The major difference to the US is that we live so close together, almost everywhere in the country. Noise is always an issue and compared to many Asian countries for example, it's very quiet here, so any noise stands out.
En sommige mensen zijn gewoon azijnzeikers... Je kunt op zijn minst even aanbellen, hier wordt om 19 uur al de politie gebeld met een normaal volume. Dus nee ben het er niet mee eens.
10:48 I know this video is like 11 months old but i heard your question about a ghostrider. A ghost Rider is someone driving the wrong way. So to speek v2v (vehicle 2 vehicle).
A ghostrider is simebody who drive against the traffic in the wrong direction bud, loving your channel im dutch , lookup " wegmisbruikers" its a dutch show.
Yeah noise is a huge issue here and the person doing it doesn't tend to turn it down at all. In fact my neighbours ended up in a battle where the people tried to create as much trouble for the complaining neighbours as possible. Turning up their music pointed at their wall as soon as the husband came home. This was in houses where I could her the buzzing of a phone through the wall. When they finally got evicted they had a last party with these soundhorns everytime someone arrived or when they felt like it well into the night and I heard they caused massive damage inside the rented house too, i heard them stomping against walls and pipes in the house. But I think they had the police radio on because they'd get quiet from time to time. That's what you can expect asking someone to turn down their music out here. Because nice people already know when it's time to turn it down.
I used to have a neighbour like that who lived 2 floors above me. He intimidated everyone in the other 4 apartments and they were afraid to go against him. Eventually I decided to just make recordings of the noise on camera with a borrowed decibel meter showing the noise levels and threatened to take the housing association to court over it. The biggest issue was, with that neighbour living on the 2nd floor, he had a clear line of sight over both of the streets that lead to the square we lived on. So if he saw a cop car, he'd suddenly turn down his music and then act like I was the crazy one for calling the cops. In the end I showed my videos to the cops, who finally gave him an official warning. But it wasn't until I had a lawyer send a letter that threatened legal action against the housing association that they started an eviction procedure. When he got the letter that he had 28 days to pack up and move out, he got drunk and decided that it was a good idea to smash a case full of empty beer bottles on my car. Thankfully people witnessed him doing it, called the cops and he was arrested.
@@fermitupoupon1754 Most of the stories I hear they are rarely evicted but yeah there are plenty of crazy people that think their music and noise is normal and no one has a right to complain. When i was moving the housing organisation advised me not to respond to certain houses because the street was full of a certain type of people from a certain background and I was looking for a quiet place and these people tended to live outside and loudly. I often saw the houses from that street back up for rent. I think not many people could get along there. Unless you were just like them.
@@Iflie I'm pretty sure the housing association only acted because I had enough evidence to take them to court over it. And it's not like I'm that neighbour who complains about every single noise, I really don't care if my neighbours have a party or if they have loud music for a couple of hours every once in a while. But this was basically constant, every single day of the week and it's only go on pause if he had a phone call or if he saw the cops or the housing association drive into the street. His argument was always that he had to have the music loud, because he suffered hearing damage, so he wouldn't be able to enjoy his music at a reasonable volume as he'd be unable to hear it. He had some sort of excuse as to why he wouldn't get hearing aids or just headphones. Nope, he wanted his music loud and anyone who complained was trying to restrict his ability to live a normal life. I went to a lawyer once I collected some 900 minutes of evidence on tape. Mind you I lived on the ground floor, he lived 2 storeys above me and the decibel meter never dropped below 75dB(A). It took quite some effort, but you can still get people evicted, even a housing association can be forced to do so by a judge. My case was strong enough where the housing association didn't want to risk it going to court I guess.
@@Iflie In the end it didn't cost me money, thankfully. But it was a long process to get it done. It took me almost 2 years in civil proceedings to get a judge to award me full reimbursement of the damages to my car and my legal expenses. And even with his income being garnished by the court, it took over 3 years for him to repay me. But I got my money in the end. And more importantly a nice livable apartment in a quiet neighbourhood for the few years that I lived there afterwards.
Its so weird to see this on your channel. I'm living in the area this video is taken around. I'm driving around the roads of the high speed chase a couple of time a month
A ghost rider is a person that drives in the opposite direction the head lights will come towards you…….mostly it happens too older people or people under the influence of something
You have to watch videos from "politie landelijke eenheid " lot of fun and some older videos of pro 24/7. But even the best are videos from" politie nostalgie" with Rene he's an 90's hero😂😂
ghostrider is a series of movies. nah jk its someone who decides to drive in the wrong direction bringing everyone else in risk of collision. often people that are severy confused or intoxicated
A ghostrider is someone driving on the wrong side of the road. So if you are supposed to drive on the right side of the road they are driving on the left side of the road. Easiest way I can explain it haha
