Watching someone who knows what they're doing, solve an intricate problem with finesse and aplomb, is ALWAYS riveting and compelling to watch. It was like watching heart surgery, and indeed, there was a manifest surgical aspect to the procedure being performed here! If you ever need medical attention, you want your surgeon to be as good with your body as this man is with your car. :)

I do a similar thing with the socket to hold the bolts. I use electrical tape. I start on the extension and wrap it all the way to passed the end of the socket. The tape holds the socket to the extension and the left over tape at the end folds inside and holds the bolt. Works great on screw tips too. The little Allen tips sometimes gets stuck in the head. Just a few wraps of tight electrical tape, let it extend passed the socket opening, trim and fold inside. 😁 Was interesting watching. I may never work on a Viper. But a SRT10 truck isn't completely out of the question. Have a great day.

I have to say, those things have ended up being, one of the best spur of the moment purchases ever! Thanks, I will remember that tip, to use thick paper to stuff the bolt head into the socket, to hold it in place. Exactly, I use a piece of glove in between the socket and bolt myself and I learned that from a different video. Plus laying parts out in the order I took them off to help keep track of them. Or using two box end wrenches together to increase leverage. There's many tricks to learn.

Hew CW! I once owned a '97 Viper with the same problem. Dodge fixed it twice and it leaked twice. I said "Enuff of this shit." and ordered a new pair of gaskets from Dodge parts. Flimsy as hell. If I wasn't careful I'd just tear it up trying to set the manifold back down. So I removed the hood and suspended it from my garage ceiling. Then I also raised the manifold and rested it on wooden spacers. C-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y put on the gaskets and equally carefully lowered the manifold without any lateral movement whatsoever. Somehow it worked and did not leak! I'm just Joe Shadetree. I musta luckd out! I made up for my cleverness later, however, when, during an oil change I didnt get the old filter gasket off. New filter with two gaskets. 10 quarts of oil on the floor. Not so smart after all!! Mike Lander

I unsubscribed a while ago because of that, and when I pop in sometimes into his channel, I've noticed lately the guy is a goof with weirdness issues, even when he visits his other RU-vid friends he really stands out in the weirdness department... Wearing those khaki pants in one of the Wizards videos with his bulging eyes and dumb hair cut made him look like a real pervert looking for prey... He probably hangs out in movie theaters too like Peewee did, before they caught him masterbating while watching kiddy shows.

I would always use Rolls Royce Hylomar Blue compound (originally developed for aero engines) on an intake gasket, particularly aluminium to aluminium. This ensures a better and more permanent seal. It is still easy to clean off at some future point with either paint thinners, brake cleaner or Biosolv.

Just a tip for you: Instead of using paper on your socket to jamb the bolt, try tape. Sticky side towards the socket. That way the tape stays with the socket, and you aren't putting bits of flammable paper into a hot area where trash doesn't belong. duct tape works well, and tears in thin strips easily.
