LYRICS:
Clear the path now.
Weeds have gathered on our ancestral trail.
Singers of songs long gone,
Poets, storytellers, artists, weavers,
Give in now and surrender to them.
Those from whom you came,
The long lines coursing through your veins.
Come on and fan the flames and concentrate,
For it’s written on your son’s face,
That light, shining through,
Blazing, in a moment of grace.
We are the daughters
Of women that we will become.
The trailblazers whose lives will never be done.
For they stood on this self-same soil,
Buried the seeds that germinated, birthed and fed
A new generation of tiny intricacies,
Forgotten family traits and oft-remembered eyes
And hidden talents that reveal themselves
At the strangest of times.
Speak of them,
Search for them,
For they are true.
Speak of them,
Search for them,
For they hold you.
We are the daughters
Of women that we will become,
Whose lives can never be done.
Clear the path, clear the path,
Clear the path, clear the path.

This is undoubtedly the most beautiful song and video combination I've ever seen and heard. It brings me to tears every single time. A music video is supposed to enhance the song and this does this perfectly. The song on its own is so beautiful it touches my soul, but with the cinematography and choreography in the video it goes deep into my soul. Beautiful ❤️

I first heard this on the Radio 2 folk show whilst working,it sounded lovely,i then searched on here and listened properly, that night was 5 days after we unexpectedly lost our mum. I don't have the words to express what this song does to me

Fabulous video. Such an amazing story through poetry and song. That voice an accent as distinct and welcoming as Liam Neelson’s. This takes you on a journey of discovery and exploration and helps you look focus on what is important in life. The piano accompaniment is enthralling and carries you along the journey. The holding of hands at the end is beautiful and has so many wonderful representative meaning. Thank you for blessing us with this amazing new piece.

Hi Cara, There was a man at "Head to the hills" festival in Ramsbottom in a stripey top. You complemented him on his dancing. You have just made him cry. Thank you. Happy equinox.

My music taste has changed in recent years, I'm listening to a lot of old and new alt-rock/ punk stuff these days. But still every year you are my most played artist. I actually have a patch of you that I wear on my vest proudly, and I don't care if no one gets it. There is nothing that makes me feel as close to myself as your music, it's given me so much comfort during some hard times and it makes me cry when I think I can't. I can not put into words what you mean to me. THANK YOU!

I cannot thank you enough for this gorgeous music, story-telling and movement through song, weaved-in with nature. It inspires me to tell stories through movement and sinuous dance...I feel so blessed that I am able to experience this in my time. I am looking forward to the full musical journey in February next year x 🌻🌷🌹🌻
