Claire, showing us HOW you use these Caran d'Ache beauties is the best part of this video. It was uncomplicated and user friendly, no expensive hard to find sanded papers or specialty pastel tools, just paper (mixed media if you have it), cotton buds, erasers, and a soft brush. I can see myself simply printing out a coloring image on mixed media, and using pastel pencils to create a beautiful picture. Lots of fun Claire, and thank you! Lisa🕊

Also, thank you for this quick but smart tutorial of a cloudy sky: I never had an idea of how to use pastel pencils, and the few times I did an attempt it came out terribly, so I wasn't comfortable in holding them in hands. Now it looks much more pleasant (That sense of satisfaction when pulling away the washi tapes!)

These would b great for line work, as I find it so difficult to do small details/lines with the Unison, Blue Earth, and Terry Ludwig pastels I use. So gracious of U to do such a beautiful giveaway.. your cloud pic is stunning btw.

Super cool! I'd recommend practicing sharpening on some cheap charcoal pencils before sharpening the pastels since it takes some getting used to!

Caran D'ache products are on my list of purchases to make this year. Will probably stick with colored pencils though, as they are my preferred medium. But these would be fun to try.

I've been a bit hesitant with trying pastels due to dust, but I've always loved watching people do incredible things with them. Thanks for showing the technique with clouds. That's pretty cool and is a lot more realistic for a newbie like me, rather than the gorgeous realistic animals that people create. I love those too and I want to try my hand at that but boy are they overwhelming :) But of course everyone's gotta start small and start somewhere -- lots of practice and dedication later, I think I might be able to take a crack at a wildlife or pet portrait, ha. Anyway thanks for the review and giveaway!
