Great video specky. Something different, great transformation, soothing music, good narration. I tried to clean the roof of my Dad's van that I don't think had ever been really cleaned. It had the grown in mold into it. I had to use a pad that was abrasive to get rid of it. Only an old van, looked better with it removed.

I'm clearly weird as this video is so so therapeutic and could watch it over and over, I have 4 cars that I look after and valet weekly and can spend a whole day on them and especially love it when they are really mega dirty lol. so to get my hands on something like that caravan i'd be in my element. It doesn’t seem like the foam did much, you are still having to use the pressure washer inches from the surface to get it clean. As long as it doesn’t damage the surface I think I probably maybe would’ve used some bleach. It does wonders on mildew.

Hi there Specky, pressure washers definitely saves a lot of hard work but you should be more wary of using it too close to seals/joints and vents etc on a caravan as it can cause damage to the fridge or gas flues.

Hello Specky,that looks so much better before you started,the moss and grime soon came off when you added snow foam and APC.

Great video and a good transformation. If you do another caravan with this much greenery, might I suggest pretreating with Pool Biocide instead of AP Degreaser. Makes very easy work of removing all the mold, moss, mildew etc because that’s exactly what it’s for. Also, likely cheaper than the AP Degreaser. Keep on mate, great content!

My motorhome was just as bad after being laid up Covid -19 with all the green and believe me it was really hard work so after seeing you use snow foam that's next on my shopping list.

I rate this 8/10 on the international ASMR scale :-)

It was pretty moldy and mossy and you did a good job cleaning it. I have a power washer and looking for houses, sidewalks or anything that needs to be treated for mold. I hope that inside is still in good condition.

I was always taught that cleaning most things, that u Start at the TOP. Step ladders,then spray your snow foam, that then also runs down the side's, softening them and making it easier..!!!

I prefer a mold and mildew remover over an all purpose cleaner for green and dark molds. does a much superior job

I really hope you have learned your lesson and that is, that "you always wash and rinse from the top down, otherwise you need to go back and re-wash it because as you wash the top, it all runs down over what you have just cleaned, got-it yet?

Always basic 110 bar pressure washer will take long time compared with professional pressure washer. It takes 3 days to clean 1200 sqrft roof of my home almost 4hrs a day with karcher k2. Anyway nice job. 👍

Great video and massive improvement, as a keen caravaner myself, if you intend to do more just be mindful of the vents and when power washing either take off or avoid because they are vents for the cooker and fridge, it could damage the wiring behind it that’s all!

Next time mix half bleach half water in your pump sprayer with a little bit of laundry soap. Spray let sit for a few minutes and I you could probably wash off with a garden hose instead of risking seal damage with the pressure washer

Nilfisk makes a Press washer wow I use a Simpson 3000PSI with an unloader and have a 3300PSI without an unloader I have all the toys for detailing but nothing beats my super Softwash broom for getting up close and personal it would of made short work of the green grimeys

Did you turn the pressure down on the washer ? I was always told if you can try and not use a pressure washer on a van rather a hose or turn the pressure right down . Im lucky ours doesnt get this back and Ive a shed to stand on to do higher parts and roof with . A good reason to own a cleaning brush attachment for these roofs and also for use on conservatories etc . Generally with my fathers I will add a cleaner type polish then apply a ceramic paste wax on top to stop the grime sitting as deep on the fibreglass . You often find you get runs down the sides from the window seals that can be a swine to remove

Hi can you help Iv got my self a trigger gun an would like to what nozzle would you recommend for rincing the car iv got a k2 at but will change it to a k5 or a k7 so looking for that will be best for all three kartchers . Cheers 👍

A simple home made soft was solution applied before power washing and allowed to dwell up to 30 mins or so would have made the green easier to shift. A simple mix of around 0.25% Hypochlorite with water and 50ml of biological laundry liquid into every 1000ml and put it on wet as in wet the surface first then spray it on, get everything covered and soaked and let is sit 15 to 30 mins. test a little first incase it causes color fade issues. One I've seen a friend use is just the biological liquid in water hosed on and left overnight. the lichen almost fell off. Nice work though.

A question sir autoglum rapid aqua wax does it last for 4 6 weeks? Or not? How often do you recommended to be applied? 2 times per months?

Sodium hypochlorite would have melted all the mold and mildew off in seconds. Aka softwashing. Great end result

That was some work to do :) Well done. At the next similar one, try the Sipom Luxor or Sipom Spider degreasers. One of the reseller I'm in contact with sells these exclusively to circus operators, to clean their mucky trucks and circus equipment. Another one sells it to truckers, to clean the very greasy and mouldy parts of the trucks.

When it comes to those yellowed plastics. I'm not so sure that's staining. It's probably that fire resistant chemical they used to put in everything back in 80's and 90's. And overtime the UV rays of the sun would cause it to yellow. Leave it to video game enthusiasts and they figured out how to reverse that using Hydrogen Peroxide, UV lamps and tinfoil.

It's not wise to use a brush on your Windows as it can scratch them, use a sponge. If you do scratch the windows then you need to use brasso cloth to get rid of the scratches.

Hi I Valet Caravans for a living and I have to say despite the very green condition of this Van. My advice would be not not use a pressure washer and a sweeping brush to clean it at all. Pressure Washers damage and remove the sealant allowing water to ingress the Caravan Structure. Using a sweeping brush would leave scratches and swirls which are difficult to remove once clean and attract further dirt. I understand the Caravan is old and not of a great value but I would not like Folk with Newer Vans to follow this method. Please be assured this is Not a rant but to help benefit Folk who have just bought a Caravan for the first time. Many Thanks Phil🙂

I am so frustrated by the fact that he started rinsing from the bottom up. Why wouldn't he used gravity to his advantage? Why wash the dirt at the top over what he just cleaned at the bottom?

And now it leaks like a sieve.

Why not make your pressure washing life easier and begin washing from the top roof downwards to the bottom and avoid unnessary multiple washing over and over same lower areas?
