It's a idealistic french song. I can tell you as a french that nowadays we got plenty of shit artists that are broadcasted on our TV & radio instead of pearls like this. (i mostly don't listen to radio tbh). I've mostly never heard caravane palace's song except on the Internet, pretty sad. They only want us to listen to garbage musics. While I will admit that I can hear that too, there are obvious G and T sounds that can't be ignored. As for I'm feelin' power, there is a very clear S sound after what you think is the word "power" that again, cannot be ignored. Besides "Up in the sky" fits better with the alien motif doesn't it? In addition if you listen to the "chorus" after the second verse it is very clearly different having two s sounds where there weren't any before making it sound like "They Sell Their Soul"

I also have to admit that your interpretation works well also, but you can't deny that there are sounds that you ignored as well (especially the line "until there's trouble"). Now, I did ignore some sounds you were referring too - but only out of volition - as the singer's voice is intentionally clunky so to give the song its old tape-recorder feel. As for the S-sound before power; I heard a phonetic zə sound before both sky as well as power - intentive. Now, I do agree that "Up in the sky" fits better with the motif of the song, but in my opinion "I feel power" work well with some of the other monarchistic details in the lyrics (i.e. "I'm gonna beat them all" and even the title "Queens"). To be perfectly honest; I like your interpretation better, but I thought I'd give you my original interpretation of the song for the heck of it.

Well, I would not really call anything obvious because it's an interpretation of sounds, but the first line "This place called Queens" sounded a little bit more like: It's or it is a place called Queen(s) - to my ears. Everything else sounds like it works fine! :D
