In this instalment, we head off to the 1st Show of 2023.
Tag along as we head down to the Geelong Outdoor Living Show.
We search out the motorhomes & compare them to our current RV. Comparing value, size & price all the while on the lookout for something that’ll make us stop in our tracks!

Some awesome vans out there guys. That Ovation looks nice, so much space and a good price too. In saying all of that, what I love about your Daintree & my little Conquest 20.5 is that they comfortably fit in any van site whereas the bigger ones start restricting the sites you can use. Great vid as always. Safe travels 😃👍

There are, hoping to see more at the Melbourne show (wanted to see Sunliner there but not at Geelong) in a couple of weeks. We were impressed that at 6.96m long, the Ovation is shorter than the Daintree with the bike rack in use! But bc of arrangement (toilet on side) it feels longer & gets 2 extra seats & 1 bed. After getting the bike rack we hardly use it, so won’t miss it, but you’d have to agree looking is one thing, need to get the feel & drive one. Thanks for the kind words. Travel safe too 🛞🛞

Hi Gents , thanks for taking us along really enjoyed your thoughts as a comparison with the Daintree, in all the time I have bought and sold vehicles , I have never sold a vehicle for more than I paid , but funny enough your beautiful Daintree would return you more money today than when you purchased the MH within a very short time , just the current times we are in I suppose. Always great to view your videos and your detail is second to none 👍stay safe and enjoy 😁

Hi Darrel, we appreciate your kind words & yes I’m a bit OTT with details. 😜 it is true, weird times we are in & long delays have defn put us in a ‘perfect storm’ as it were in regards to selling. But as we are finding - depending on brand/spec & the donor vehicle, the wait time on new we are lead to believe is still anywhere from 12 months (I personally think that not attainable) to 3 years! Sheesh. Safe travels

Our motorhome has had a 52% price increase in 2 yrs, where the similar Jayco model only 22% increase (& added spec). The particular Avan (ovation M3) has only received a 9% increase - 2yrs ago it was $13k cheaper!

I'm not a fan of the AVAN M3 bed however there are more options than the Windsor. I don't mind the M5 AVAN though. Even more storage and a better bed option. If I had my time again I would not buy Windsor. Grossly overpriced for what you get and quality of build, or lack of. I do like the fiat though.

@@ollietravelinaround when we placed our deposit, it (Daintree) was value for money, fresh & well specced (in its first 3 months it was a game changer) & as newbies we lacked experience. NOW, ATL (windsor & Winnebago) are greedy & had 52% increases, haven’t changed spec (others have added spec to compensate for price rises) & although it’s still clean & fresh - it’s no longer value. As the video shows by looking at larger models with better abilities for the same price…

Thank you for your honest review. Avan & Jayco seem much more functional with a lot less comprises on space, storage, sleeping/seating etc than the Daintree.

@@KP-vx5ue price has pushed the Daintree beyond its 'scope'. 2 yrs ago it was Fresh & a gamechanger at introduction (circa $109 -$115k) & we wouldn't change buying ours. But now its compared -as shown to larger vehicles that afford more space to storage

At the time. Defn 👍👍👍 would not change our decision. But the more experience you gain, you appreciate things differently. And yes the Daintree is still fresh, modern & great size but thinking we’d prefer a full time bed setup & dinette arrangement (not one or the other)

So all the motorhomes are pretty much the price of a house in a country town not that long ago. Dark grey caravans in Australia really dont make a lot sense. Masculinity?

🇦🇺 Australia, has become a captive market. Where one leads in price/ features/ style & if it sells (+ makes profit 😉) others follow. And there’s still some price disparity in motor homes but only just. So clearly everyone has jumped on the raised caravan in dark colours with checkerboard (presumably ruggedness/ toughness).
