Hi Phil You could have mentioned that on CMC club sites you have to put the plug in and twist it clockwise until it clicks to turn on power. To disconnect you need to press the blue button before pulling it out.

Hi Colin. Thanks for this. I have to admit I have never come across this at Club sites but I have only been to 5. I will pin your comment to help others. Thanks Phil🙂👍

Nice one Phil good info for new beginner's I've cut my 25 metre cable in half and put one male plug on one and and a female on the other so if board is close use a short one save fatin about with access wire I've never had a problem putting the electric cables together if needed as the plugs a fairly water tight I don't even use a wheel to roll cable away just put them in a cable bags much easier cheer kev

Hi Kev. Thats a good idea. Mine is 15 metres which for me is enough. Mine came on the reel which is handy sometimes but can be a pain. Hope you are well. Phil🙂👍

Good tips Phil. I've cringed in the past when I've seen someone walking back from the hookup post with their live cable; a tazer! Thanks for sharing/ Mart 'n' Jo.

More good tips there Phil. I carry two lengths of cable, a 25m and 10m. All 10 holidays in 2019 never had to use the 25m because the hook up bollard was close enough for the 10m cable. Cheers Rob

Great tips Phil one thing we always do when packing away the cable is as we put it back onto the storage reel I wipe the cable over with on cloth to remove any dirt and also if packing up early in the morning to dry off any dew (making sure it's unplugged first) then it goes away clean and ready for the next time. Stay safe best wishes Jon and Karen

Another good video Phil. I've always placed the excess cable (unravelled) under the caravan to protect it from the elements. Should I stop doing this?
@lostweekendscaravan
@lostweekendscaravan 4 года назад
Hi Thanks for watching. Yes don't put it underneath. The cable can get hot and there a surge it could catch fire. Better leaving in the open which helps to keep it cool. Thanks Phil🙂👍

Is there an alternative box you can use if you don’t have an electrical box on site?
@lostweekendscaravan
@lostweekendscaravan 8 дней назад
Hi. If there is no electric hook up then you are off gridding. If you park it on the driveway you can buy a standard plug adapter so you can plug in to a domestic supply. Hope this helps. Phil🙂👍

Hi, why do you not put cable under van?
@lostweekendscaravan
@lostweekendscaravan 4 года назад
Hi Carl Good Question. If the cable heats up and catches fire it will no doubt catch the van alight too. When on a pitch I tend to loop the cable at the rear of the van usually on the grass and run just a single length along the side.. I hope this helps. Phil👍🙂
