I became hooked on STOL flying videos when I first discovered the Flying Cowboys. All of your guys do the kind of flying I would love. I've really appreciated your doing this descriptive video with details that are not otherwise available. Keep up the great work.
For anybody installing slats as an afterthought, mount all the brackets then go back & install Rivnuts & machine screws. Self tapping screws should never leave the ground.
Love seeing the quinner videos he is a great guy and he is so humble it is hard to find much footage of his more personal life. Thank you for yet again another great video. 👏
Instead of sheet metal screws to attach the slats, I would use aluminum or stainless rivet nuts. Then, they are completely removable and way more secure than any type of sheet metal screws. I use rivet nuts for tons of things. It's one of those things that, if you ever use it once, you'll find a million other places you'll want to use them. When whatever it you're attaching is removed, just place a O-ring on the threaded portion on the bolt and put it back into the installed nut. The hole will be 100% water tight. I've enen done this below the water line on couple of boats and had no leaks.
Yeah, but does it climb like a home sick mule? That's what I want to know. :-) They need a Maule door. Hey, you favor John Travolta. I'd love to see you read the opening scene from Swordfish. Like in response to questions, no matter what, you just move onto the next line. THAT would be funny.
@@ExperimentalAircraftChannel yes sir, i been watching his channel for a long time now, and i should say that thanks to RU-vid and people like you we can experience that only a few can do.
YES YES YES. I agree. Accept my apologies. Zero budget for equipment at this very moment. But it is on the short list to upgrade all equipment here very soon. Thank You so much for your support and your passion for Aviation!
You know if you got a little door in a side of that fuel pod down below and changed it to a fuel bladder in there he'd probably have a way to use it as storage when he's not using fuel. I'm sure it would be a fairly simple STC.
I would LOVE to see the improvements of your plane with the Performance STOL flaps. After seeing the aerodynamic test videos of the Savage Norden, I would love to see you implement that!
I want an RC version of this like Trent's Freedom Fox...n I want one of Steve Henry's also...and ...Draco...and .... u see where I'm going..? how cool wld it be 🤠
Beautiful plane. Thanks for sharing. Another shout out for Dynavibe. I got mine right down to 0.00 IPS and it's like flying behind a turbine. Can't imagine why I flew so long w/out using one. I'm a big fan. I also love Catto props, but why not a CS prop? The carbon CS props are pretty light. You have a sports car (or a jeep in your case) stuck in 3rd gear w/out one.
Very cool video, I was wondering what Kevin was running. Ditto on the DIY camera pole, I kinda “expanded” on Trent’s setup also and got some great shots with GoPro Max 3D (check my vids)😉
Great plane and Kevin had done a superior job in advancing the Stol sector of aviation. Check your math on your W/B numbers though..... I came up with 265# not 400# in your sample equation.... not that this plane wouldn’t fly 135# over weight.
Hey Kevin, you're my favorite flying cowboy. Question: is Jonas Marcinko as reckless in real life as he appears on his channel, or is he just playing a character?
he probably is..u see the swimming pool ? 🤕 it's in his nature n he's not alone and it's not a wholly bad thing but that lovely little woman will settle him down ..
Thanks for your time to interview. Question for you, how would the plane fly with the leading edge slats without using flaps for slow speeds? Will it still slow you down? Do you loose any top end? Thanks
Wayne McClure - personally I’d be leery of rivnuts on fasteners that would receive lots of stress & vibrations along with direct sheer loading on some of the fasteners. Just my opinion.
Experimental Aircraft Channel - yea I enjoy your content, products and the people who bring both to your channel. Sorry I only had 250 to give to the cause last month but Peter had hit us up shortly before when he hit his wall first. Just keep doing what you do and your channel will grow because I believe the experimental aviation world is underrepresented in an unbiased format. There always seams to be a sales pitch that follows the interview and I’m not talking about giving a web address either. Take care Bryan your channel will grow just keep doing what you do Sir.
