Once again, incredible stuff! When I watch your videos, I wish they'd never end - I'm really looking forward to part 4 (and more!) Keep up the great work!
Wow! Another great show of your craftsmanship. The use of balsa throughout this project is ingenious. I wish I had the patience and the skill to do this sort of thing. Only wish you'd have included another pan of the scenery around there. LOL Great video!
+CSJKD Thanks so much CSJKD! Slow but steady, this project seems to be panning out well so far. Next vid I'm gonna through in some nice pans for ya, there was so much footage for this section I had to leave out a whole bunch unfortunately. Thanks again!!
I love watching really talented people make super cool stuff like this. It's such a pleasure to see something come out of nothing. Also... where on earth do you source this sort of material?? I'd love to make some parts out of carbon fibre. Looks so satisfying to work with:-)
+Woodeso's Guitar Mods Hi Woodeso! Thanks again for kind words. I get my carbon cloth from the local ebay equivalent. I got mine a long time ago when I had a business working with carbon fiber. I should imagine it is readily available in the states in all kinds of weights. Twill cloth, double bias (the stitched heavier cloth) and unilateral (carbon strands in same orientation), which I find very handy. I think West Systems resin is probably the two part resin system that I have seen in the states, it is very good quality. We have our manufaturer here in NZ that is Nuplex. We have a strong boat building history here so these things are quite common. I think High Modulus is also a big manufacturer of carbon cloth. Its great stuff, you will love what you can build with it, virtually anything you can imagine. Have a good one!!
Really amazing project. You're so incredibly patient and innovative, but I worry about your exposure to the airborne fibers. I noticed that you wear a full face respirator, but you can't always wear one in the shop, and there's lots of stray fibers about. If you had a vacuum table with hepa filter bags you wouldn't have to worry about it. You should think about building one.
+Philipp Lauter Thanks Philipp! I will certainly be posting a video of how she performs and footage from the gimbal. The next video wont be too long away, its taking quite a bit of time due to the complexity of trying to form the carbon fiber but I'm getting there, thanks again!! have a great day!
