This has been a very detailed well-taught video. I understood every step of the way, with all my questions answered. I so loved that beautiful red cloth used but im thinking that black brings drama, so I may have thought to use black. I have a question or so: Is this type of cloth that's best associated with using Stone Coat on, Or may I head on down to my local craft store/thrift store as the glorious addition to my wooden piece? When im ready to create my order of product with you, do you also offer some of the great tools such as that chopped or?

There are a few things about this project your viewers need to know and be aware of before tackling this project... I took your idea and made my own table, and it looks AMAZING, but I learned some lessons... One) carbon fiber will trap air, big time. I did the thin tack coat before doing my flood coat, and after torching it several times it looked like it was air free, but, I ended up getting pockets of haze caused by tiny air bubbles that were trapped in the carbon fiber that released afterwards. For my next table, I will do two, maybe even 3 skim coats before I flood coat it. Two) carbon fiber will make your product dimple, it's unavoidable because of the texture of the cloth. Prepare to sand and polish the surface...(not a big deal) And finally, the biggest pain of them all, the EDGES! If you intend to have smooth edges, you will have to either do multiple flood coats (I did 6 in total because I love the depth) and let it pour off the edges each time, or, paint the edges multiple times with resin... (I did this as well, when I would do other projects I would mix up a couple extra ounces and brush the sides, I wanted a thick clear layer on the top and sides, so this may be overkill for you) You will always have the bumpy sides because the resin will follow the pattern of the cloth. If you want the sides smooth, you will have to build up the layers thick enough to sand down smooth. When you sand the sides, be careful not to sand too deep into your carbon fiber. This was a great project and I plan to do more tables like this taking the lessons I learned from the first one and making it more efficient and clean.

- Hello Mr. Stone Coat...My name Zack and I'm from Malaysia. I never yet miss watching all of your videos as my guide & some knowledge about fabrication work. My job as Advertising & Design (from car wrapping, custom signage maker for interior & exterior building). - For your info, from the beginning project design in layout plan +fabrication work+ Installation work = All of this DoItMyself for my client to give them a low-cost price under their budget. - Thank you so much for all the info+tips+tutor for my e-Learning. I've been in this line since 2004. I learn from some mistakes on my project and find your video for some tips & advice... and now I more consistently did the perfect product LIKE a pro for my client. - From my experience and get pro tips from your channel. NOW I do everything with consistent and get real professional results. - Thanks a lot & Love your video. You give good learning for me as a "handmade maker from a small shop" like me.

The shape of this immediately made me start thinking.... “Oooo my old baby grand piano would look Killer in this treatment!!!” I’d just do the hood with the cloth I think, and try and either match epoxied color tone with the rest of the piano shell or some color combo that marries nicely. That would be a huge job by so so beautiful in the end.

Great video, great tips! Here is a tip for you... I’ve found that a diamond tile disk works amazing for cutting the cured FRP. They last a very long time “same cut wheel 4 years now” and are much safer than the fiber disks IMO as they won’t fracture and fly apart if put in a slight bind! Thanks again, James
