I used this technique to repair TWO(!) boom breaks in a crashed Ultima 2 that a friend was willing to give away. While I can't say I got factory fresh results, I think this technique is fantastic. The repairs are a bit thicker than the boom itself, and I didn't have carbon cloth that matched the original weave, but who cares--what were fencing scars all about back in the olden days?

Thanks for the help, i just bought a used dlg for my first one and it came in from shipping with a broken wing, tail boom and horizontal stabilizer. sooo i have to learn how to repair before i learn how to fly good thing he took out $400 shipping insurance.

I'm curious about the paper towel? I would have imagined the paper towel would cure hard. How does it come off again? Do you sand it off?
