I don't think that will be an issue. SU7 Ultra doesn't seem to be a production or even road legal. It's just an all out race car with compromises to maintain performance. Without road car restriction should be very doable.

@@Neojhun This is a prototype of a product scheduled for production and sale. No matter how it's used cooling of brakes and battery will be a primary metric. Taycan holds to ev production car Ring record they intend to break.

Amazing stuff, but just to correct two points. The Ultra is exactly 3x power of Tesla M3P which ranges from 460-510BHP. however this car is def NOT lighter than hyper car ICE vehicles, which weight anywhere from 1100kg upwards, eg Gordon Murray cars.

Hi Sam, greetings from the U.K. For me personally the high performance EVs don’t interest me, I get that they showcase the technology, but most people with an interest in performance already know the advantages of an EV, probably because they have been toasted by an EV in their infernal congestion engine performance car.

Dear Viking, why do you think so many dream of owning and driving a 60s Ford Mustang, or a 50s Ferrari, or a 70s Astron Martin, or a 90s Porsche 911, or .... They are nowhere as quick or fast as ANY of today's sports cars or even some of today's family cars. But they offer an experience that can't be bought today. People miss those sounds and experiences (like today's F1) which you could have in those older cars but are now mostly muted in modern cars. In an EV, they are 99,99% muted. ALL you have is speed and more speed.

The Xiaomi SU7 is a massive success, especially for a company's first ever try at making a car, and the actual production SU7 Ultra should be very nice, but THIS car in the video is not a real car. It looks like an SU7, and will use elements from the upcoming production SU7 Ultra, such as the new battery or the high output V8 electric motor, but this is NOT a production car. It is a custom designed prototype built by ProDrive, a large racing company, dedicated to doing a fast lap around the Ring. It is more akin to the NASCAR version of the Toyota "Camry", which is a custom space frame with carbon fiber monocoque made to LOOK like a Camry. Same deal with this particular SU7 Ultra. The actual production SU7 Ultra when it comes next year will still be very fast, maybe even as fast as the Taycan Turbo S, but it won't be this fast.

they should do a one make racing series of the Ultra... then use some of the parts and do a road version of Max + also you can't use giga press for carbon fibre.... they need to be individually formed and baked

I'm sure it's impressive. I find the thing that's missing from all these performance EV's is something intangible. I'm fortunate to have a nice two-car combo of a Tesla 3 LR and an Aston Martin convertible. The Tesla is a great car, and it's quick, but it can't compete with an Aston Martin for just making you feel good while driving. All high end EV's are plenty quick enough, so when someone makes one with true style, wake me up.

Let’s not be too excited with SU7 yet. There will be a lot of challenges doing a high performance car. If Xioami wants to stretch this, they will run into a lot of problem. Eg - just been reported by auto journalist that the brakepad is under designed and wore out and overheat quickly.

Remember that the other Xiaomi cars were prone to brake overheating and crashing on corners. Being able to create an enormous amount of power mean that it can control it in a safe manner

Nobody owning a Bugatti would feel ashamed. Just like nobody with a Rolex is ashamed when Casio brings out a new watch. The mechanics are what makes a car interesting, not the speed but how it gets there. This can't compete with any ICE supercar because it has no soul and no spectacle.

It's not lighter than a comparable ICE vehicle at all mate. It's hundreds of kilograms heavier. 5.9s is superbike 0-200kmh territory, this thing is as quick as a plaid basically. I used to daily drive a modified superbike this fast in the later 2000s lol. Thing that is impressive is you can take a passenger in it. I've been in both plaid models, they are very fast. But not as fun as ICE vehicles that are slower IMO, speed isn't always everything. Having such a fast daily driver, means you can't actually use it in many places. I did it for years. It's fun on that empty highway/quiet back road but in traffic, when your vehicle is designed to go fast, it's always a compromise.

I think you need to look into the physics of automobile acceleration. Even with 6 wheels, 0 to 100 in less than 1 second is beyond what tires can do. You would need thrusters in addition to tires. Also, that would be almost 3 G's, which is enough to cause some people to black out.

koenigsegg gemera 2200hp and 4 useable seats. Rimac Nevera, lotus evija, pininfarina battista (although these 3 are practically the same car) have 1900hp. Let’s see how far these electric hp races will go and when will it be enough. Here in NY people drive like maniacs in their beat up Corollas. Give them 500hp+ cheap EVs and roads here will be more dangerous than flying on a Boeing airplane

Aside from the fact that even the Porsche time is not special compared to ICE ( they still reign supreme at least on track ), it's still an amazing accomplishment made possible by Porsche's racing culture. I very much doubt Xiaomi can get there just because they have higher numbers. SU7 couldn't turn or brake because China still have a lot to learn, and it's gonna be hard to do when they have the hubris to think it's enough to rip off some design. Porsche GT3 RS made 6:49 with ONE THIRD of the power, and you can rest assured everyone would prefer the experience of driving that in the ring.

@@redgreen3064 Price is a big factor in “Destroy any ICE supercar “ as what he put in the title. Affordability is a big factor in real victory in the market. No youtuber make videos about Toyota Camry or Corolla, but these 2 boring cheap family car models are the reason that Toyota is No.1 right now. 1. Look is personal opinion, everyone has different view. 2. Professionals knows Torque is more important than HP especially that EVs can reach top torque almost from 1rpm while ICE cars are still inhaling air 3. Reliability Records tell you koenigsegg has frequent failures and needs service often. They are not reliable like a Toyota. EVs are just far more reliable than ICE cars in nature because they have much less components and much simpler mechanism. Last, I m sure Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will sell 10x more than Koenigsegg Gemera , if not 100x more

Green hell is not as same as drag racing ! sure, it may have a better lap time than the taycan, but that's somewhat too much power ! the GT3 RS makes about 520HP and if i remember correctly that's the 2nd fastest lap time for a production car, 1st is the SVJ and when the HP start to get over 900 the cars start to look like 90's GT1 cars and still can't beat the GT3RS (unless it's a race car) non car people need to STHU, most of you people have no clue about cars, and for most of you this is politics ! like with the Tesla clowns who are licking elon's ball sweat who want all the cars to be a Tesla, this is a pro Chinese EV channel, this is just geopolitics not cars !

That car is from 2005, and it was made for top speed runs, not even 0-60 ! in 50 years people will still have them in car collections even if the EV nazis get them banned, but most of these E-waste cars will be in landfills in 3rd world countries in 10 to 15 years ! no one would be looking for a EV to buy it back because that's the car their parents had when they were young ! this will never happen with a EV watch?v=l02EGYwp2Go

Thus far - all you need do is search Xiaomi SU7 quality - and you'll find it is one of the most shoddy ever Chinese BEVs. If you make a high horse power car; you should put very powerful durable brakes on the car like a Porsche or Corvette has. Not Xiaomi. Not many have been made; one has already caught fire; so in that case you are right it probably would destroy any car ICE or especailly EV sitting next to it. There are video showing even the body panels falling off. It s pathetic joke; and to try and fix all the serious flaws already exposed will be far too late, half the orders have already been cancelled..

Is that why Xiaomi has been selling so many of the things they added an entire second shift to their factory, which is now pumping out more than 10,000 units a month now due to red hot demand? By the end of the year the SU7 will be outselling the Model 3 in China. I guess the CCP must be sending police to people's homes forcing them at gunpoint to go buy the SU7, even though it will crash and catch fire immediately on delivery, just to prop up Xiaomi, huh?

I did. Reviews from some who drove it like Wheelsboy, Telescope and Car sauce. They are unanimous in saying it's is that good. Especially for a first attempt by a non carmaker.

So why discuss household brake pads on the track? Do you know that someone measured the speed from 100km/h to 0km/h by braking 29 times without any thermal decay? According to Chinese law, the maximum speed of a vehicle is 120km/h. If you exceed this speed on a legal road, you will be violating the law.

These cars could easily outrun a few cop cars... but not dozens of them working together being coordinated from the air. Heck, they might not even bother to chase cars like this... just take down their license plate and put out a warrant. It won't be hard to find.

Ev`s are not good on the track because of thermal build up, i think currently the Ionic 5 N is the best one and can do 2 laps before throtteling down. So i doubt this Xiaomi SU7 will be very good on the racing track.

Yes ICE cars are obsolete. The legacy automakes should have transitioned to use carbon fibre materials decades ago. Xiaomi are great for exploring the use of carbon fibre in EVs.

its ridiculous and should be outlawed, the biggest ICE car engines in regular cars is around 750 hpand its ridiculous a400 hp car is peppy why would you need that kind of hpthis is what the problem is for EV'S we want a car or vus with 375 hp and minimum 400 to 425 milles range how hard could that be . stop this nonsense about hyper cars when nobody can make a decent regular car or suv.
