Good interview, Sean. Too bad about the technical glitch. Thibault was interesting if only for the simple fact that he postulated on a number of good ideas for economic development in contrast to the usual left/right solutions with their one size fits all mentality. In other words, there's hope for the world after all. As usual though, allocating and garnering resources and the best way of doing so (capitalism, in my book), despite the niceties he discussed, will always be thrown out of whack when thugs like Putin decide to inflict violence on the world for no constructive purpose. He doesn't care what the consequences of his actions bring. He is a cancer on the body politic. Cancer doesn't care about viable solutions, and until we deal with that cancer, for the immediate future, all bets are off.
Just like anything else carbon taxes will be co-opted to fit the needs of the rich and powerful, that's how they got to be rich and powerful in the first place. There not an opportunity they won't turn down.
. Yeah. We spend all our money slaughtering the powerless of the world and ruining their societies, and nothing on sensible, rational planning and regulation of our own country. What could possibly go wrong? ☺☺☺☺
