I have had depression and panic attacks out of nowhere the past month and a half and my stomach has felt horrible. I tried a keto diet and it just got worse. I went to eating carbs with every meal and now I am giggling for no reason and feel so much better. Now it all makes sense.

May I ask how many carbs you eat daily? And what source of carbs? Do you eat rice and bread? Or complex carbs? I’ve been on Keto for a almost a whole month now and I’ve lost a lot of weight so far but I still have bad days, I feel fatigue, anxiety out of nowhere, and just don’t feel like myself. I’m wondering if I need to just eat more carbs to feel better.

I went Keto and my weight went up and my hormones went all over the place. Couldn't figure it out, thought something was wrong with me. Yet I smile after a bowl of rice and my weight stays the same. Thx😂

I know this comment is old but did you try just focusing on calories in, calories out rather than concentrating on a specific macronutrient biased diet, just to see if there's a difference in your weight gain/loss?

@@platinumstorm2521 NO. I hadn't considered my calorie count at all. But since then, I've gone keto. Lost it all and I definitely did C/I C/O. I also did the warrior diet 👍🏻

i LOOKED amazing on keto. but I started developing OCD and paranoia, it was so bad I'm still in a PTSD type recovery state

I’m experiencing the same thing right now on my keto/very low carb diet. I feel anxiety out of nowhere and fatigue and just not myself sometimes. I’ve lost weight successfully but I’m not happy about my mental health and I have a hard time sleeping at night since I’ve been on Keto. I felt so much better when I was fatter and eating carbs lol

Yeah I’ve been on low carb for a month and lost weight but it’s probably water weight and Ive been having panic attacks and anxiety randomly which I never had before. And I can’t sleep while on low carb diet.

I'm a 2b and I tried the Keto diet and it worked for about 6 weeks then my progress in the gym stopped and I started gaining weight again - NOW I know why!

I feel as if this is exactly what I am going through. My coach had to change things up. I got fairly overweight due to lack of cardio and overeating cheat meals after I get off stage (completely on me...he did not tell me to do that...lol, I was dieting from 25% to 6.5 % BF and just reverted back to really bad habits after my show) ) and I was not responding well to our normal carb intake for this cut. He pulled carbs and I started losing very well. A couple weeks later I am irritable and not coping with ANY stressful situations well at all. Getting very angry and just overall not focusing on what I need to do. I am a very anxious person, so It feels counter productive. I feel like everything he just said is about me!!! Looks like refeeds are are about to be thrown in more often. I absolutely love your little tid bits of info... It helps me realize how important it is to relay a lot of info to my coach more often, yall can not just stick to your plans if you are having negative results. Losing fat is not worth losing your sanity. Coach can not fix what he does not know about. The first time we did a cut I did not really have this issue, actually It was great. I loved the cut, workouts were great until a few weeks out... it all worked well. But now it is not working so well. Weird how things can be so different from year to year, prep to prep.

Definitely agree that carbs make you relax, and for me sleeping better if eating at night 🌃 However, keeping it lower earlier in the day ☀️

Funny thing I was having racing heart before and panic attacks this time on keto and I never made the connection! I discovered carbs at night by accident when I had a great sleep after choosing not to eat meat one night. This is a great explanation why!

Maybe I need to get off my low carb diet. I’ve been having anxiety and can’t sleep well since i started my low carb diet a month ago. I’ve lost weight but I’m not happy about the way I feel mentally since I’ve been on this diet.

@@speedracerjeff it's not easy man. I compromised and do high protein and moderate carbs now. There are days where I'll have all protein but I don't do it full time anymore.

i think if you over eat carbs it can lead to stress when you begin fasting phase but if you did not overeat them then you will transition without feeling stress

Aren’t carbs signaling the sympathetic system and creating inflammation? Wouldn’t lower carbs and higher around training and lower at night be better?

Jay Mills high amount of glucose (simple carb) is what you’re talking about. He said a little amount of constant carb (6times) preferred complex carb during day.

@@aryansaeedi7618 they're all glucose, it's just the matter of how much the immediate blood sugar gets spiked. Ultimately, they're sugars and should therefore be limited depending upon, largely, your activity level.

Wouldn’t that make ur insulin levels high in the day which stores fat and not release fat stores...managing cortisol or insulin for fat loss?

Cortisol actually opposes insulin. Basically if insulin is low, cortisol is high and visa versa

This is why you have carbs early. Give your body what it needs, lower and control cortisol. You also give your insulin time to lower by the latter part of the day. 30 grams each time you have your carbs, ( not too much, not too little but certainly more than 20 grams a day as required by Keto/ Atkins. Have your protein/ fats later in the day to control your insulin and keep it from spiking.

@@VibeWithVida sometimes people may have larger insulin spikes than others, so a certain amount carbs may spike it high and take long for it to come down which is why intermittent fasting works so well...everyone is different but I guess the safe way to do it is eat low glycemic index foods

You probably have dysbiosis, its' imbalance of the digestive system, something like candida overgrowth which feeds on sugar and fast carbs. If that's the case, then fast carbs are a problem, causing stress response when yeast grows. So in this case, low carbs put the yeast to sleep and stress levels drop.

Is this a joke? lmao. "Spike your insulin throughout the day to lower stress" XD He kinda saved it there by saying not too much, but still I feel like people might take that and run with it. Also, too, 90% of serotonin is made in the gut, not the brain, and the strains of bacteria that make it get destroyed by reckless high carb feedings. They respond much better to high quality fats like Omega-3s or high fiber (low net carb).

I am sick of fat people bashing the RDA and food pyramid. If you lay out the amount of food you can eat per day via those guidelines it is quite a lot of food at 2K calories. They say that the 55% carbs thing made them fat. Bullshit. They ate pizza, McDonalds, Ben and Jerry's, etc. Not one of those items is on the food pyramid. They also fail to tell you that if you don't eat 300 plus grams of protein the first few weeks of keto that you will burn a shit load of muscle waiting to become fat adapted. I did keto once for 5 months. Went from 230-168. Less than 20 pounds of it was fat. don't fall for it unless you are morbidly obese. Oh, and never, ever take diet advice from a fat person.

55% carbs is way too much for most people because they're not active enough. The food pyramid is a joke and biochemistry will tell you why that is. Too many carbs is high sugar, high insulin, is a metabolic risk,period
