Not really happy with the audio on this clip, but I'm gonna leave it up for kindred spirits who were hoping to see a video today.

This is such a good version! I like how each coin vanishes differently. That last tip at the end is absolute gold.

This version is excellent. I think I prefer it to others I’ve learned that I usually just practice without performing. I will show this one to some lucky person out there!Thanks sir.

I've always been fascinated by the Matrix trick, I find it so impossible, and so beautiful at the same time! But the original version never really appealed to me, it was kinda repetitive... This one is so good! I think I'll spend my whole day practicing this!

I’ve always wanted to see your work on this! Thank you so much for sharing. I first saw you do this on video years ago to Come together and loved it. Read the handling in Takagi’s excellent book but wasn’t the same. Just so good.

Wonderful Doug! I will definitely brush up on this one and revisit Kaufman's book on my shelf. This also reminded me of Takagi's alternate approach back in the 70's published by Jeff Busby I think. I took a look at "The Far East Mysteries of Shigeo Takagi" video where he performs/explains it. In that handling the 4 Aces are face up in the left hand and right hand turns each face down as the fan covers each coin with the right hand sliding the ace face down onto that coin. Of course similar sneaky stuff happens 😀, but I remember it completely fooling me back in the day! It was such a novel approach!

Thank you for sharing..I enjoyed the variation on this. I would love to see the add on to the second and third phase set up for this routine to be more complete . For instance Reverse Coin Matrix or like Ryan Hayashi Ultimate Matrix...and beyond. Please show the tutorial for the 2nd and 3rd phases. Looking forward to it.

Very nicely done. We are all familiar with "Coins Across." This one is exceptionally clean (and as smooth as a baby's bottom. I prefer the versions that use cards to the bare-handed versions. You handle this vert well.

Great tutorial Doug. Can't wait for the classes to start. Bonus props for the 4 Horsemen image too. The Golden Era of professional wrestling is hard to beat. Who was your favorite out of them? Mine had to be Arn Anderson. He just looked so serious and looked like he would whoop your butt if you tried to cheer the baby face on in front of him.

Ehi Doug! Being Al Schneider one of my first virtual mentors (I am still looking for a flesh and bones one), the Matrix is something which I discovered pretty soon in my magical journey and so, being a theory and magic literature addicted, I've looked for the history of it AND (long intro, sorry): I wanted to mention the Coins'n'Cards aka Sympathetic Coins and Yank Hoe. Why? Because I'm from a city near Turin, the city where he was born (Ercole Castagnone) ...the same city of Bart Wood... :P The end! Have a nice....day? It's night here 😅
@DougConn
@DougConn 8 месяцев назад
I considered discussing the Yank Hoe routine as part of the matrix lineogy, but because it's published / presented as a penetration and not so much a transition, I opted to leave it out of this discussion... but yes, it's in the ballpark and a def predecessor.... (it's hard to draw a line to make these discussions consumable for the average youtube viewer :) I appreciate your enthusiasm on the subject!
@francescosclavo1739
@francescosclavo1739 8 месяцев назад
@@DougConn Oh, true ...I didn't think about the penetration aspect. I get the difficulty of concentrating everything in a bunch of minutes! Thanks for your answer! New Orleans is a bit too far from me but I hope I will be able to meet you one day and steak some help from you on my (developing) street show :)

I'll be honest, this is the first time I've heard it referred to the Dingle-Bertram Pick Up Move. Usually the Dingle-Schneider Pick Up Move.

Methinkis Bertram was first... Dingle likely got it from him (guestimating as they're both canadian.)
