Amidst all of the conflict and drama, I decided to try it out for myself! I’m not getting into the politics of it all, but I genuinely want to know what works the best! Is it Kurt’s, is it water, is it alcohol or maybe a mixture of it all??? Only one way to find out! Check out what solution got the creases out the best!

It will pick up patterns while it’s wet, so It’s important to use two clean flat flats at the end. It have have had patterns, but I didn’t notice at the time

I just get a piece of toilet paper, run it under the tap and make it into a ball. I then dab it over the crease and put a penny sleeve over the water for about ten seconds. That usually does the trick. Got to dry it quick though. I got a crease out of a big card the other week and sold it for $650
@nothingbutcardboard

That’s interesting. What kind of cards are you doing this on?
@DanielCordone9
@DanielCordone9 4 месяца назад
@@nothingbutcardboard Si for kids type cards, 60's Panini cards and paper. Just got to practice with it. Been doing it for a few years. Fixed dinged/wrinkled corners too. Just got to dab it once for a few seconds and then quickly dry it with a glasses cloth. There's no need to soak the whole card. Maybe only if the cards were removed from an album and had glue stuck on.

Avoid drying with paper towels as they scratch surfaces and leave indents. Try microfiber cloth such as the disposable or reusable before transferring to the plexiglass plates

What happens with the cards after years, in slabs or whatever? No one knows if any of these solutions will damage the cards in the long run? Hope the grading companys will not grade these cards.

Folks like this don’t care. Whatever gets the best grade, most money and quick is what they are all about. 5 years from now? That’s the buyers problem.
@nothingbutcardboard
@nothingbutcardboard 4 месяца назад
That is a huge problem. We are in no way endorsing soaking cards. This was just an experiment to see what happens. There is definitely risk with how cards will hold up over time. Fortunately it looks like most damage will be evident immediately and people won’t be able to grade the card. However, for the ones that do not have visible damage immediately and are submitted to PSA, it doesn’t seem like there is a way for them to find it. Perhaps in time PSA will figure it out.

If your going to keep it for years why not buy raw and put it in your own encapsulation slab. That's because your only having it graded for profit. If you are posting questions to the creator of this video, asking "How to do this?" or "How to do that?" Or "How much does the glass plates weight?" Pretty much any question trying to figure out how to do this, which cheats collectors and greatly damages the hobby, then you, all of you should NOT be involved in this hobby! THIS is Corruption, This is CHEATING!
@sourcingsailor4987

One has to seriously question whether or not to subscribe to and/or follow a content creator, who posts videos like this! I'm serious! I am considering unsubscribing, especially when you know it's such a taboo topic, why? Because outside of doing this to your personal collection, it is 100% WRONG and YOU know a lot of people are out there with nefarious intent and will learn from this video and cheap collectors and the hobby! Why even forward that narrative, perception and literally teach them how to get over? Like I stated on another post you have so many outstanding videos, why taint it with something like this? Especially when you know that this information would be use negatively. Can't wait for your next set of releases, including: "How to take a regular card and number it, anything from a 1/100 to a 1/1?" "How to immediately undervalued the collection of someone, who wants to sell or trade you their cards?" "How to buy raw cards on eBay, make a false claim and get your money back, with hopes of the seller cowering and allowing you to keep the card, or give you a huge discount" "How to trim cards." "How to recolor cards for a PSA 10?" "How to attend card shows and buy $1000 worth of cards with counterfeit bills?" "How to act like your $1 card is a $100 card and sell it to some young kid?" Are you all THAT desperate for content, clout, an online footprint?

@@sourcingsailor4987 lol looks like you had some time on your hands. This was released a while ago while there was a lot of controversy on whether it was wrong or not. @@nothingbutcardboard The irony of when one is exposed, they immediately attempt to minimized that embarrassing exposure by attempting to be coy, witty, respond with weak ad hominem attacks, make excuses and begin, end or lace their asinine responses with "lol," "haha," or childish laughing emojis...again, in an attempt to give off the impression that they aren't exposed and triggered! "...a while ago" you say? Your excuse was it was released a while ago? So, you are telling me, wait, telling us, that there is a "statute of limitations" on responding to corrupt acts? Tell us, are you a distant relative to Trump? " Allow me to let you in on a secret, "altering cards, isn't a "new" concept and scums bags have being doing so, since i was a punk kid in the 70's and it was just as controversial then, as it is now! Furthermore, let me get this straight, YOU actually needed to record YOU submerging a sports card in water, uploading and posting a video on RU-vid of YOU knowingly showing others "shade-tree mechanic type of tricks, tactics," of which YOU clearly knew three things: 1. You would get a ton of blow back for this video, but as long at it enhances and benefits your channel's engagement, then damn the hobby, huh?they will surely use to CHEAT collectors and DAMAGE the hobby? 2. You knew this video would be construed as a "blue-print" to cheat collectors and the hobby, but again, as long as you have "real" collectors like me calling you out, you believe bad exposure is good exposure. 3. You knew the very second the thought came into your head to do such a test, of which you could have obtained the same results, wait for it, PRIVATELY, that the content of this video doesn't help the hobby at all, but damages it! Then, to record, upload and attempt to justify this video says more about you, than me, you know, the "so-called" guy with a massive amount of time on his hands! Furthermore, in your response to me, full of excuses, asinine excuses, you overtly admitted this does indeed damage cards, is wrong and not recommended! I'm going to end with a few quick questions: Since you overtly admitted and agreed with me that these tactics hurts the hobby, are YOU going to do the right thing and delete this video? You have obtained your reward from it via RU-vid;s algorithm? It would be extremely easy for me to hope you buy an expensive "raw" card or two or more at a card show, in a card shop, or online, then submit it to PSA for grading for them to tell you the card has been cleaned, suspend your PSA account and send their lawyers after you, after you realized you just through whatever you paid for the card out of the window of your Prius or Yugo, but I am not going to do that...wait, did I just do to you, what this video is doing to the hobby? Trying to play stupid by acting as if you didn't know the scum bags in the hobby will use this video to scam others and I? I can hear the divorce judge know, "So, you slept with two women in you and your wife's bed, just to see if it would upset her? I am awarding her EVERYTHING, including your card collection! Now take that!" Again, the question remains, "Since you realize everything about this video hurts the hobby, are you going to delete it?" Character means a ton to me, regardless of how much time I have on my hands!
