I've been practicing this cut for a while unsuccessfully. I have watched many tutorials and still no luck. After watching your video just once I completed my first revolution cut. I attribute this to my hands being small (I know, lame excuse). Most other tutorials have the rotation above the perpendicular bottom packet and I just couldn't get this done. The way you swing to the side and use your thumb to get the packs to clear makes all the difference in the world. Thank you so much! I will like and subscribe.

Gotta say fell into that small hands mentality on this cut. Proceeded to look up tutorial tutorial and seeing all the different finger placements and explanations only solidified that. Tried to replicate how you do it and sure it was sloppy but I pulled it off. Best tutorial for the revolution cut I've seen. Thanks much!

"If you can't do it no matter what or which tutorial, just check out 52kards' channel and Boom". That's basically how I feel. As soon as I heard you made a tut for this cut, I checked it, and now I can do it ! Actually what I was doing wrong you didn't explain, but watching your fingers carefully helped me out on that question "what to do with your pinky ?"

@MAJICmike95 Hey man, I did some research and found the cut you were referring to. It is quite a bit different as you said, but I have also heard the cut that I do being referred to as the "revolution cut." I think the name is generally used to describe both cuts since they look so similar even though the mechanics are different. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I thought you were nagging about a minor difference in finger position or something :P - Asad

I'd checked out four or five other tutorials on this cut before, but only with this one I really understood what to do, thanks!

I happen to be watching this on the 11th birthday of this video. It was very helpful. I learned this cut probably a few months before this video was uploaded. And I've been doing it wrong this entire time. I have always ended up with my index finger sandwiched between the 2 packets. It took a little practice, but I can now fold my index finger in when I'm supposed to.

Very well explained. I've nearly got it but I'm just having issues with getting the index out of the way at the end. Guys if you can't do this one and you're discouraged then... Well firstly don't be and keep trying... But if you just can't seem to get it or you think it's too hard, I recommend you learn the scissor cut first. Once you have that one down you should be able to get this one shortly after. I thought it was going to take forever to learn this one but once I got the scissor cut now this is just proving very easy to learn.

Years ago when I was a freshman in college I knew a guy who was rooming with a guy who was a pretty good magician. He taught some of his car sleight of hand tricks and flourishes to my friend who passed them on to me. There used to be another card magician by the name of Jeff McBride that was the best I've ever seen. He put out a couple of CD's called "The Art of Card Manipulation", and it was in three parts. I bought them and learned a few of them. The key word here is PRACTICE! What makes these flourishes so great is that not only are they impressive, but they're so difficult that not just anyone can do them or know how in just a few minutes. Some of them take literally HOURS and HOURS of practice to get proficient. A few of them, particularly the ones where cards vanish, it's almost imperative to practice in front of a mirror so you don't accidentally "flash", or let the white side of become visible during the vanishing maneuver.

Great video, it's a lot of work to get there though and i'm still not there at all. I am concerned about one thing though, most videos completely ignore the other packet management... so far, it's been my main concern. The other packet is always is the way, either blocking my index or simply preventing my ring finger to get to the other side of the deck. However it was clear enough here that the bottom of the other deck was controlled not by the pinkie but by the ring finger (at the beginning). Thanks again.

For those having trouble the point that is not mentioned is that when you move your ring finger to the right hand edge then drop the lower cards you must push them up with your pinky so they stick out between your thumb and first finger!

For people with smaller hands (like myself) I found it MUCH easier to start with my ring finger on the bottom of the deck. This results in an easier transition from the index and thumb to the index and ring finger!
