Good morning, I'm so glad I found your RU-vid channel. I have absolutely no experience with stamping and the gelly plate. But now I'm going to try this too I can learn a lot here, love from the Netherlands ✂️🖌️✏️🎨🌺🍀💕
I have this gel plate and another larger one and am always looking for ideas to use them, especially with products I have on hand. I have discovered that no matter what I use with the gel plate, I can usually create a background with modification for a card! It's addictive and fun! This is a great technique and resulted in a beautiful card! Thanks so much!
Thank you Barbara! I really love using my gel plate for so many projects. I have a whole box full of gel press pulls I've done over the years. It's really quite addicting. Thanks so much for stopping by. I will be using my gel plate in future tutorials too!
So pretty!! Love the stamping on the gelli plate. I’ve got to try that! Also love the orange, it’s one of my least used colors, but it’s so bright and cheery! You’ve inspired me with this fun card! 😊
Awww! Thank you Jessica. That gelli is surprisingly a ton of fun to play with. And I think we could all use a bit of orange right now. I can't wait to see what you create!
YAY! Dig it out and have some fun. The colors make me so happy. Just perfect for summer. Thanks so much, Cindy for stopping by. I'm always so grateful for your kind support.
thanks love this design...funny you make this video right now since I am OBSESSED with my Gelli plate right now...in fact I am anxiously waiting for Amazon to deliver my 5 x 7 plate...I have 2 8 inch circles but hey you can never have too my gelli plates LOL just like you can't have to many stamps!
Alice, Thank you! Finding that Gelli Plate was a super fun thing. You can also give it a go using a large acrylic block. The results will be similar and it will give you a chance to practice.
You're my watercolor hero, Lisa...this is so awesome and I can't wait to play! I bought the Gelli plate eons ago and have yet to take it out to play! It's the larger one but could make a large background and use it on lots of cards...Yay! I have used regular hand sanitizer on my Misti but recently just bought the Nuvo plastic cleaner and am waiting for it to be delivered...
Joanne, You are so sweet! I know right, that gelli had been in my stash for eons. You can totally use the larger sized one too. I have one of those too. Hahahaha! Thank you for the tip on cleaning my Misti. It’s a total hot mess 💥
Love the colors of this card...am going to play with your idea today. I get so excited to see your videos in my "in box"...I grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the time with you. Clean up your Misti with "StazOn" stamp cleaner with soft rag. Takes off everything, even dried ink, even Stazon dried ink!
Awww! Linda that is so sweet! And I'm so happy to hear that you enJOY the videos. It's my calling to share and inspire. Thank you for the tip on the misti. I've been struggling to get them clean and just gave up. I have that cleaner and I am definitely going to clean them up!
Love this, Lisa! The colors are so bright and cheerful; the card design is very pleasing, too. I have never used a gelli plate but may have to put that on my wish list. Thanks, as always, for sharing.❤️
Kristine, Thank you! It’s super fun. You can also try the same technique by using a large acrylic block. You’ll need to use less water, but you can stamp kiss and get a nice impression with it. Give it a go. ❤️
Love these colors! The gauche paint looks interesting. I use the Staz-on cleaner on my Misti...removes everything. I do "rinse" off the surface with H2O and a smidge of dish soap to remove the oily feel of the cleanser and then just wipe it down with my damp Tidy towel. sounds like a lot but it works and isn't that labor intensive.
Marcia, Thank you! Such great tips for cleaning up my Misti. Gouache is fun... it’s an opaque watercolor that gives a nice matte finish. I’ll be sharing more about it in future videos because it’s enJOYable and well you know ... I’m a watercolor nerd 😂
Yay Lisa , I do love that card you have created , I love the Gelli plate look and l certainly love your background especially the texture at the top left I did try one tube of gouache once but the odour was too strong for me , I will try with my acrylics to see I if can get the same effect - I think because you brushed it on first and added water you got that lovely texture after the brayer . I’m glad you found your little Gelli plate and had a play . Thanks as always for your inspiration. ❤️
Hi Wendy! Thank you! The gelli plate is a lot of fun. Kind of a like a lost treasure for me. The texture and surprises just make it so much fun to create with. Acrylics work great too. You can even use your ink pads. I have found that pigment ink pads, because they are thicker, work really well. I definitely was able to achieve that texture by adding a bit of water. Can't wait to see what you create!
Love the card! Don't have the gelly plate, but hope to get similar result with acrylic block. Also, I've had good results using hand sanitizer on my Misti.
I think so too! Ink is great fun to get a softer look and feel. The paint is more dense and matte. Let's face it... there isn't much I don't love about art supplies. Tee hee! Thanks so much for stopping by, I'm so grateful!
Great card and lovely technique! Thank you!! I use basic H2 to keep my acrylic blocks clean, I think it might work on the Misti, I haven't tried it yet.
