I think because she is more comfortable talking in Spanish rather than English because I know a lot of people says “oh well she has broken English” or some shit like dat so yeah
She’s talked in interviews about how she’s insecure about her rapping because she’s worried people will make fun of her accent and pronunciation. She said that’s why she tries to really enunciate when she raps.
Boss it’s the Dominican parts. The dominicanos are very proud, sabes ellos son una persona una nación muy orgullosos y la cosa también con ellos es que así se escuchan cuando hablan español, es de una manera de se relajados
Yes ur right , as a Spanish speaker she seems to fit better talking in Spanish her accent doesn’t sound that strong, but when she speaks English she sounds like a whole clown honestly, idk wtf are all those sounds she makes
@@soosdelrey I like to think the sounds she makes come from her background or just found in Hispanic celebration when they cheer, they might make the same noises. 🤷🏾♀️
Kota Lashae what Hispanic celebration have you been to that you’ve heard those sounds? In my 25 years of living, I’ve never been to no Hispanic/Latino celebration that make those noises lmao
Fruity Jimin your laugh doesn’t change no matter if you speak 10 languages if you speak Chinese and English your not going to laugh different in Chinese and English wtf
Coming from someone who is bilingual and has studied various languages I can say that certain forms of comedy are not easy translatable across all cultures, and someone's sense of humor that can be found charming in a certain language can come off really awkward in another, also sense of humor does vary across cultures so to be so charming and witty in more than one language is no easy feat, which is why I'm so impressed that Belcalis Almanzar is as funny as Cardi B
After 4 years of learning Spanish I can finally understand the first 2 words HOLY SHIT I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THIS BUT THANKS FOR THE LIKES HAHAHA💕💕
So impressed, even if she lived her whole life in USA, she speaks fluently foreign language., Her parents did an amazing job. Respect. It is pretty hard to teach your kids not english but another language
Babu B it’s not as hard as you think. Many of us who have parents that are immigrants (mine being from Mexico) are fluent in our native language since it’s what we grew up speaking at home. Some parents are ethnic yet don’t teach their children their native language which is sad
Jsalcedo23 maybe it's up to parents, i experienced and saw many parents speaking native at home, but even if they do it frequently, their kids don't speak that good,. Well from my side that is pretty hard,. ;)
It's not really that hard, especially since she grew up in The Bronx. Literally the most ethnic area in New York, especially with Caribbean Cultures of Dominicans, Jamaicans, Trinidadians, ect.
Babu B is right...many immigrant children forget their parent's languages.Growing up , many of my ethnic classmates forgot their mother tongue and only spoke it informally. I had to re-learn my parents language by going to their homeland; to hear how the younger generations speak it. I would imagine, that it is easier to learn your parents language if you go back to their homeland. It's usually the kids who didn't want to take the trip to the motherland that forget their parent's language. I could tell that CARDI B really cared about her heritage , even with Selena her Spanish was terrible(even tho she's tex-mex) and JLO also had to re-learn her heritage after she blew up from selena. But you could immedeatly tell CARDI B is being REAL and Authentic with her spanish.
I’ve been learning Spanish for a year and a half, I remember seeing this video about 6 months ago an I couldn’t understand nada, I was really disappointed in myself, anyway today I’ve come back to it and I can understand nearly everything they are saying, mad how quick you pick up these things
@@bjbryant4373 the one drop rule was only used to give as many people with black ancestry the least amount of rights possible, and keep them segregated from breeding with white people. your great great great great great grandfather could be black, and they’d still classify you as black just to keep their race as “pure” as possible. and we know damn well that isnt actually black.
Seran tontos.
I dont speak spanish at all but some words are a mix or french and english so its not that hard to understand but i think spanish is a sexy ass language lol they say french is romantic but spanish is sexy lol
Gringa here...i agree... I grew up eating my mom's Irish cooking which means bland, bland, bland food. Onions and black pepper were the extent of the seasoning. When I came to live in NYC I discovered Latin food. My initial reaction was OMG, food has taste!! It was a revelation. My taste buds woke from the dead. My favorite style is Dominican. Give me pernil, arroz y habichuelas y plátanos and I'm in heaven. Thank you for delicious comida latina!
She’s speaks perfect Spanish much respect Cardi B 👍 love from 🇲🇽 y saludos a todos los 🇩🇴 ❤️❤️❤️ when she said “ Toda la comida desabrida” I lost it 😂🤣
She was born in the U.S. Spanish is NOT her "Mother Language." Moreover, Spanish comes from EUROPE. Not Mexico, PR, DR, Salvador, etc. Those countries were conquered by Spain and FORCED to learn the language. Put down the maracas. Don't celebrate just yet chicos y chicas!
I’m Mexican and I understand every version of Spanish out there. This is what you call “mocho.” My Abuela used to say los Puerto Ricaños y Domincanos hablan todo mocha y no comen tortilla.” 😂 The language clarity goes like this: Spaniard speak proper like the English Mexicans and South America in general speak relaxed like the Americans PR and DR speak like the Scottish, heavily accented and loud.
No it doesn’t. If you speak Spanish, it sounds disgraceful and disgusting. It’s almost an insult for her to speak Spanish like that. It’s not “Dominican Spanish”. I known every Latino country has a different dialect. She just doesn’t know how to speak Spanish. She’s at a sub-elementary level. She does her Dominican slur impression when she doesn’t know how to say something. Even that is ridiculously exaggerated.
Peter Smith Listen to a Bad Bunny interview. He’s Puerto Rican but it’s super close to a Dominican dialect. That’s what native sounds like. This just sounds stupid.
@@Face_Reality Look the most easiest way to learn was to be raised in a Spanish house hold. But obviously you weren't raised in a spanish house hold if someone in your family talks Spanish tell them to teach you. If not then your going to have to find classes online which shouldn't be expensive
Even the most fluent in spanish will have alot of trouble understanding Dominican spanish because it's literally the most broken, made up spanish there is and I am so proud of it lmaooo.
Dominicans are one of a kind. You learn Spanish and learn that they have their own Spanish. 😂 You go to Santo Domingo or anywhere in DR and you'll love it. The people there are great and funny just like this interview. 😂
@@judychang8760 Tiene casa y en vacaciones se va a República Dominicana , siempre a visitar a sus hermanos, primas, abuela en si a ver a toda su familia
Translations for those that don’t speak Spanish: - Her dad is Dominican and her mom Trinidadian - Her dad wants her to buy property in DR now that she’s rich - She’s from the Bronx. Thinks New Jersey is very boring - The old guy was joking she left her Bentley parked in the projects and she said no she’s not that crazy
candieehill She was talking about how people tell her to stay away from the Bronx and Washington heights but she can’t do that because she lives in jersey and it gets boring being there. Plus she can’t buy salami in jersey and there’s nothing but white people down there so all the food has no flavor, so she has to cook food herself
She’s so Dominican! I am haitian and my beautiful wife is Dominican. I love everything about Dominican Republic. You are very generous people towards Haiti. May God bless you guys!
I feel like spanish jokes are like inside jokes between spanish people because in english it sounds weird or doesn't really make sense lol it's just not as funny than in Spanish.. like her personality makes A LOT more sense in spanish with her own kind lol we're just loud people and we're veeery extra lol we don't usually act like this with other people just around our own kind but some dont care just like her
@@ericalopez7040 exactlyyy, and its not actually what she says is the tone she uses and the context but definitely spanish jokes are inside jokes that only spanish people will understand
Asisin Mama Nah, that’s her nervousness showing even though she’s trying to hide it, because she knows as well as the rest of us that she barely knows any Spanish.
She has a very strong Caribbean accent 🔥😍 I love how she’s not ashamed of being a Latina unlike other artists…is it me or does every thing sound funnier in Spanish? 😂
Nah man we in the Caribbean sound mad different no matter the language of the islands lool. Puerto Rican and Cubans speak with their slang too, not just Dominicans and my family’s from DR.
Edward Salce screw you dude. My dads Mexican, and my moms Spanish and my dna came back 93%.spanish, and only 3.5% Native American. You know 60% of Latin America is mixed right?
Viva Espana! Without Spain (and Portugal) there would be no Latin culture. Know your history. Also, sick of seeing hateful “Latinos” in comment sections hating on Spain deciding for themselves what they think Spanish is. Hispanic means from or relating to Spain. Period. Latino can be anything of any descent and any race living or from central and South America. Really sick of you dumbasses and it’s always the super ghetto ones too. Did your parents raise you to hate?????
I didn’t like her until I heard her speak Spanish she seems so down to earth ... hearing her talk about no salami in nj sold it for me . Love love love her lmfao
@@martinaxis8565 esta lleno de musicos reales, pero la radio suena el 90% esta mierda, pero cierto, soy yo el intelectual, no eres tu que eres estupido.
Basically they asked her if she cooks in her house and she said yes cuz the food in usa does not taste as good as latin food but she doesnt really like to cook, also about the car she bought but and how lotta people tell her not to go to the bronx and she said that all the people she knows like friends lives there, so where is she going to go if is not there? She lives in New Jersey, she gets bored & that her dad often tell her to buy a house in Dominican republic and that she is really famous now, she says shes really funny and her family watch her back
To my English speaking people they jaja at everything because thats how hispanics are. They are joking around, hence the name (el vacilon). They are not laughing just to laugh. 😉
I'm latino so i speak spanish they were talking about food, they asked cardi; you cook? cardi: "yes, I have to cook even though i don't like to do it 'cause where i live there's only gringo and the food is tasteless, there's no options to cook" *they laugh*
