Thank you so much! Your explanation helped me understand the cardiac muscle action potential better. I really needed to hear an explanation again because I'm studying antiarrhythmic agents for my pharmacology exam and that subject is killing me ☠️

Thank you so much for your thorough explanation! I had a question: I'd like to know if contractile cardiac muscle cells have a threshold potential? Or do the autorhythmic cells propagate the action potential through to the contractile cells and depolarization of the contractile cells is what maintains the action potential?

Should review the other important and essential reason the 3rd part(RRP) of your action potential is imperative.

Does all of this cycle occur during the latter part of Excitation-Contraction Coupling? Because they both have L-type Ca2+ channels?

Soduim in then potassuim out...the next conduction how does it move the soduim inside again if its already inside

I hv watched so no. of videos to find out the reason why l type ca channels close...some say 0mv opens them but what closes them...yet to find out the answer

Nice video although the phases don't align with standard nomenclature i.e. your Phase 1 should actually be Phase 0, there should also be a label for Phase 4 (For the black portion of your line). This can cause some confusion.

Question? Can we say that for one calcium that goes into the cell 2 potassium ions go out to maintain the plateau because of the difference in charge between them
@davychiyezhi7323
@davychiyezhi7323 3 года назад
I think unless if it was sodium and calcium but for potassium and calcium the exchange amount is equal
