Rafael Merry del Val y de Zulueta (10 October 1865 - 26 February 1930) was a British-born Spanish Roman Catholic cardinal. Before becoming a cardinal, he served as the secretary of the papal conclave of 1903 that elected Saint Pius X, who is said to have accepted his election through Merry del Val's encouragement. Pius X later appointed him as the Cardinal Secretary of State. Merry del Val's writings and example prompted greater popularity for the Litany of Humility, which was for some decades incorrectly attributed to him. A cause for his canonization was opened in 1953 at the behest of Pope Pius XII. He now has the title Servant of God.

I can't pray this pray yet, maybe some of it but not all of yet. I am going to listen to some of the videos of people praying this pray. I am going to listen to it a number of times so I can hear it over and over again and get it down in my craw. Just listening to it humbles me to think the Cardinal Val framed this pray and lived. it. I might need to study more about his life and writings.

Lol. Thank you for this! I couldn't say it, either, for years! Especially the third or last part when the refrain becomes "Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it." Now, I not only can say it, but need it. Maybe prayers come to us when we need or are ready for them.

Thanks for this video. Great homily. I got so much out of this. "Find out that humility is what gives us a profound freedom." "Humility is the acceptance of what is the courage to live in the real" "...our desires are so focused on that illusion that we miss what is right in front of us." I just started saying the litany of humility and feel kind of like Father does, but I already see the fruits and maybe one day I will be able to say it without feeling so insincere. Maybe there is a better word than insincere, but that is all I can think of now.

It's nice that the narrator talked endlessly about Merry del Val's Litany of Humility. The narrator should have talked more about Merry del Val's career and accomplishments as a papal diplomat. That's why I tuned into this video.

14:23 by the sins of others. I wonder what is it means to him. I was sexually molested as a child. Once at age of 5ish and then at age of 8ish I think🤔. I wonder if the demon that harrass me (in dreams and thoughts) until nowadays that I am an adult is the sin transmitted to me bc of these men and also the unstoppable harrassment of fear mainly by bloodline...🤔. Hmm, I wish the one speaking reply but I doubt it.
