Me neither. I wiggle the damned things together every which way and either nothing happens or sections go together in chunks. I have struggled with this for years and I have never seen any book or tutorial that can tell me how exactly to make the move so that magic perfect weave occurs. All these tutorials are basically the same: they say "do this and this and then pow, magic happens". Except it doesn't, for me.
@@rishabhbhatt1534 - I've tried it with all sorts of decks - brand new, old, in the middle... weirdly, I seem to get closest when using a slightly "broken in" deck rather than a brand new one.
@@jjdecani top is easier, and actually i learned this pretty quick but i just hate mushing cards together and ruining the corners so i never perfected it not even close but heres a lil tip. dont bevel the packs! slightly (when you line the packs up to faro) use your left middle finger at the top outside corner with a small amount of pressure from your index in the center of the left packs to SLIGHTLY bevel the pack BUT ONly until the faro has started and THEN release squeezing pressure but continue back and forth and downward pressure. little practice it works i even use my middle finger nail to line them up perfect beforehand.. so number 1 hold packs tight....2 line up and square.....3 press with left index (slight bevel until you see cards faro) release both thumb pressures so that the cards may weave together seamlessly PS i do it in 1 motion no back and forth start away at the top, line up corners and drag in towards myself
You need a good deck for this, I sat there for ages with my crappy deck trying to do it and then a week later my new deck arrived and it was super easy to faro.
oh man this is encouraging. Perfect Faro shuffling is so important for a number of tricks I'm trying to learn, and I was beginning to question if consistently putting out perfect faro shuffles was something that separated the pros from us plebes.
Raag Banerjee vertioso or something.. but if you are good you don't need a special deck... just some advice... don't spend 12 for that deck, just get a bicycle deck for 2
pGManiac Official haha, this is so funny, I just learned Ripper by Jeremy Griffith(an Anti Faro), and to see a comment from when I started magic last year, particularly one from when I was learning a technique that this new one I’m practicing is based on, is pretty awesome!
I'd watched a few faro tutorials before this, but the thing you said about creating tension at the corner and then letting it release clicked. Thank you!
i was having the same problem.. it's not the pressure/pushing that causes them to slip together, you start by pushing them a tiny bit to add tension, and then the soft sliding is what slips them into line... if you push hard you'll hurt your hand and your cards
Ekat love you and I have some tips. Lay your right index where both packets meet and let your bottom packet over hang the top packet just a little. Turn the bottom packet towards you and keep the top packet straight you will get much better faros. Hope this helps too💜💜💜
Hi Ekaterina. Mh well sorry for my bad english, i'm french so... But i just want to say you thanks. I already knew how to do the faro shuffle but I didn't knew those variations. It's just incredible, beautiful and I now use it for a false cut so... Just thanks from a french magician !
you upload very few videos ekat... but your tuts are so brief and helpful.. Thumbs up... please also upload some other cardistry tutorials.... i think this was ur frst pure cardistry vid and it was best
It's good to be at home at last, so that I can catch up on all your videos that I missed while in hospital. Also great to have you on UK TV tonight - really looking forward to that! (ITV 7pm to 8pm "The Next Great Magician") Wonderful to see that the producers have included so many excellent female magicians in the series) Do you have any tips or hints on cutting the deck at the 26th card for a perfect faro?
Faros can be done flat on the table, in the way that mimics a casino-style riffle shuffle. It's useful for gambling, Richard Turner-style magic tricks.
I'm getting great and easier results by sliding the actual corner of one side into the flat corner of the other. Does this break the cards? I don't see anyone on YT doing it that way.
I understand that this is individual, but isn't it easier when you split a deck just take upper part with your right arm straight away rather then pushing bottom half with your left, and intercepting it with your right?
Love seeing you back its been a while 😍 i know its just the basics on the faro but quick question, in terms of card controls what's the difference between an in - faro , out - faro , and straddle... is it that the top card is second from the top if it's an in- faro, and still on top if it's an out faro? I remember learning this but I forget.. 🎅 merry merry EKat
What moves should I learn as a begginer cardist? I can do the basics (one handed cuts, riffle shuffles, etc) and I can do a Sybil cut. You should do tutorials more often, you nailed it
ivancb97 can you tell me what you started whut because im starting cardistry and im only 12 years old i kbow how to rifle shuffle and the ribbon spread and im improvising on tge spring so can you give me some tips?? ☺
Thank you! I’m new to cardistry and have watched a ton of videos trying to work out a faro, but I’ve been doing them all day since watching this video. That moment when it all clicks and works at the perfect angle is soo satisfying! Thanks again! ♠️♣️
could have mentioned that bicycle stock doesnt last as well in faros as ellusionist custom decks for example vintages/arcanes. Also if you can do it perfectly you will not damage any corners. i can do perfect ones with over 1 year old decks and im not concidering myself too good at it
Really happy! Watched quite a few videos on how to do this, but couldn't get it. Watched this and got it within minutes! Just all made sense ... Thanks!
Hi Ekaterina, do you have the Black Mint deck or Raspberry Mint deck from 52Kards? If so could you please do a tutorial for the queen backed joker gaff card? That would be great. PS I love your channel, you're quite skilled.
What should I do if cards started going each other and they don't want to continue ? They stop connecting after 10-16 cards and I have no idea how to finish it ;---;
Hi, and thanks for the tutorial. I was able to finally do it after practicing all day. Well, not all day but I think with a few more tries I should have it down. I noticed that I needed to apply more pressure as the layering began. This creates the ridge and the cards slip into the gaps.
Hi Ekaterina, been a sub for a while now. I'm actually starting a card/ magic club at my school and need supplies for around 16 kids. I was wondering if you can send me some used unwanted decks or magic tricks. Anything will help. We tried fundraising but it didn't go to well. We can't afford many decks cuz are school can't fund us. Plz reply
I was struggling doing this trick with my old deck and thought that it was just because of me. Then I was like ok lets try it with newer cards. And the first try went perfect... wtf xD
