I'm a horticulturist and someone asked me for any recommendations for beginner houseplant info. I was like, actually... I don't have a good one... so I searched on youtube for a while and found you!! I will definitely be boosting your channel as a reference for beginners! You know your stuff. keep up the great work!
My Mom grew a basic rubber tree plant when I was a child/teen. It literally outgrew the house. I recently bought a Burgundy for she and I to grow together (She is now 82) I am hoping that this plant can thrive and grow and bring us both joy! Thank you for the video!
Love your videos. I just wanted to mention that I keep my variegated rubber tree in full direct sun outdoors for most of the day, all summer long here in the southernmost part Canada and it produces beautiful bright red leaves.
My ruby and tineke love being outside during the Summer along with my Hoyas. They grow crazy, but I definitely have to keep them out of the direct sun as our summers hit 40° easily.
Gorgeous ❤🎉Got all varieties of it fro my sister. I wanted to propagate them but still studying , so cared when they die. You got rare collections ㊗️👋🥰as a plant lovers, indoor & outdoor succelent & money tree are everywhere here 🥰❤️❤️❤️
Anyone know if I can put my tineke in leca ? I’ve found she had small brown spot on three leaves today . I believe it is a fungus issue so I’ve taken her from her pot cleaned her an put her in water with silica .
I've had one that was decimated by mealybugs and dropped all it's leaves. I thought it was a gonner. But I put on my vynil gloves on an sprayed the remaining stem down with Neem oil and rubbed it all down and in a week new leaf shoots and now huge leaves are back.
They enjoy a well draining soil with a slightly acidic PH balance - I'll usually mix some perlite, sand/grit and pine bark into my soil. My little one's also doing really well in pon right now (seems to be great for more or less everything) 💚
Hello! You video is so helpful 🙏 My ficus has grown very tall and is only one tall branch. If I cut it in half all the 2 last years new growth will be gone 😱 and some old burn leaves will still be there. What should I do? Is there any other way to provoke new branching?? Thanks is advance!
My rubber plant seems to think we are in the spring/summer as i have a bunch of new growth (5 leaves in the past month or so)but they are small. Thinking I may need fertilizer ..?
I'm very new to this plant world and I just bought a rubber plant but it wont fit in my pot cuz it has so much leaves on it's lower part. is it bad to trim the lower part just to remove some if it's leaves? please help.
This video is super helpful!! When I bought my rubber tree I thought it was a ruby since the leaves were super dark and red but now they look exactly like your tineke, any idea why that might be and how I could get darker red leaves again? Could it be that it is just a tineke? I live in a place with not a lot of daylight but I have a grow light for it thinking that would help. Hopefully you or someone reading this might have an answer haha. Thank you!
Just got a rubber plant and came across your video. The one I bought was an outdoor one in a green house. I bought it off the guy because the leaves were all folding and curling. Is there anything I can do to fix that? I repotted it in terracota and put it in a nice indirect sunny spot in my living room. Thanks
Hiya! So curling leaves are often associated with underwatering, meaning that if it had been quite neglected it might just be super thirsty. They can also be due to root issues though (the plant may have been saturated with water and has gone into shock). How did the roots look when you repotted it? 💚
Hello ! I live in Martinique which is a french Caribbean island. I brought a variegated rubber plant in my home but My appartment doesn't get a lot of light especially in the living room. First the plant was like in pause (no growth nothing) an then after a couple of weeks it started browning and dropped some leaves. I read it was a sign of overwatering an actually I was doing too mutch on this side. So I repotted it and left it on the terrace where the light is brighter and I always check soil moisture before watering. Now my plant is doing so well ! It grows, and there's no issue with the leaves but now i hesitate to put it back in. I don't know if my problem was too low light or too much water ... (sorry for my english i'm a french speaker)
Hi! Just discovered your great channel. I bought a gorgeous FE Tineke & notice sudden dips (as if puckered) in some of the leaves, where it used to be straight & smooth. Might this be from a drop in humidity?
Thin leaves, in my experience, tend to be caused by 3 things - either a watering imbalance (meaning you're not giving your plant the correct amount of water it needs), not enough nutrients (when was your plant last repotted?) or lack of humidity from the air. Aside from the thin leaves, are you experiencing any other issues? 💚
@@TheJungleHaven no dear no other issues other thn thin leaves... I have not repotted it after i got it from nursery 6months back... planning to do tht in Feb. I water it thoroughly when the top soil is dry...
I have the exact same plant & my plant went dormant about 4 months ago it’s now September. What do I do all my other rubber trees are growing very well except this one
Greetings from California! I just discovered your video and I found it so helpful. Thank you!! A few months ago I purchased a Tineke and she is doing great. But I noticed a few brown dots on the leaves. Any idea what that could mean? Other than that there is new growth and looking gorgeous.
Thanks so much! Are the brown patches mainly covering the paler/white variegation? From my experience this could either be lack of humidity, or incorrect watering... I've made a video on all the causes of brown leaf spots (scroll back through my older vids), but those two have been the common cause in my experience with this plant 💚
They enjoy a well draining soil with a slightly acidic PH balance - I'll usually mix some perlite, sand/grit and pine bark into my soil. My little one's also doing really well in pon right now (seems to be great for more or less everything) 💚
Thanks for another great video. I picked up my Tinuke from Aldi for £9.99. I'd love a Ruby next but haven't seen those in any of the Indie plant shops I frequent.
It sounds to me like you might have over watered it... It's really easy to do, and the times before this has happened to me, that's usually been the case. I'd recommend checking the roots ASAP and treating if necessary before repotting in new soil (I have a video on Hydrogen Peroxide that goes over the best way to treat a plant for root rot) 💚
Hello, how come mine? It doesn’t have a leaves coming out. I think it suit they should couple that are pink color but it didn’t open as it as a leaves and stay like this for a long time maybe 23 months when I’m gonna have leaves on it please thank you.
I have it for 23 months. I never have a new leaves on it. Why but it still looking good no drop no nothing on but they have those suits the pink one and I think it’s it’s a leaves and open up open anymore. It didn’t open why let me
something I read said that rubber plants dont like to have their leaves get wet and to not mist, is that true? I haven't been misting it for that reason
I've personally never found that to be the case. I never mist or wet my velvety or furry plant's leaves as this can cause issues, but I wipe my rubber plants regularly and they seem happy 💚
My sister in law ditto looks likes you ! How do you know my favorite plants ... ❤1st i love Sansevieria most ...you made a video ... 💚2nd i love ficus too ...now it is ready! I just wondered to know this ...clare!😆😁 Happy Gardening 🍃
Hi, can you elaborate more on underwatering better than overwatering and watering schedule in spring, summer and winter. I see in other videos advising that whichever plant it is water it thoroughly until it drains. Does this apply to ficus plants also as I did it in winter(watering once in a month thoroughly) and see ficus plants loosing couple of leaves immediately in 3-5 days.
