You need to take and pass a pre assessment test after the application to be considered for a position.

Are track laborers that perform welding tasks classified as welders and are they on a higher pay scale due to their skills?

The thermite, combo, and maintenance welders pay scale are slightly above sectionmen, truck drivers and some machine operators, I don't remember how much the grinders are getting. We have our own school called the Technical Training Center (TTC) in Overland Park, KS.
