Yes, I really use a 1.5. I like soft reeds with all my saxes. Nothing greater than 2, because I play with a very loose embouchure and don’t like to struggle getting low notes out. Tip for beginner soprano player… pitch is more delicate than with larger saxes (smaller margin for error) so practice with a tuner to develop good intonation and eventually train your ear so you won’t need the tuner as you play.

Mr cavese i really want to thank you with your help i have another question my aunt gifted me a beautiful yamaha yss 475 ii soprano sax for my birthday but i feel like my 4c mouthpiece is holding me back i want to know is it possible to get the same tone as you even if its not a mk6 like yours i want to sound like you big time please tell me its not just the mk6 also if i went out and spent alot on a metal mouthpiece like a durga 5 would that help ?
