Very rare we get chance to renew Cargo pipeline dresser coupling but its a good experience to have it.
Following points to be remember when carrying out packing renewal
-Make sure when replacing packing you should cross check Nominal size of packing from maker manual
-Remove excess paint from nut & bolt(stud)
-Keep 50ltr drum beneath dresser coupling before opening nut and bolt
-Keep spanner, Ratchet, rags, brass hammer, wooden piece when starting the job
-Make sure you have spare nut and bolt (in case any one get damaged)
-Use brass hammer or wooden piece to hammer
-After removing outer ring of dresser coupling, get it de-rusted
-Clean the surface where dresser coupling moves.
-Apply the grease on movable surface
-Renew the packing
-Assemble all the part.
