Just what I was looking for. Was trying to come up with a solution to install a window ac on my cargo trailer. This would be perfect. Great install you have done. Great video also.
I didn't really do much. The manufacturer said it's not necessary unless you remove several consecutive ribs. I added pine cleats to frame out the the openings and provide a place to fasten the doors and windows. With those cleats also being fastened to the 3/8" interior panels, it keeps everything pretty solid.
Re: your diamond plate cargo door. Always fasten the way you did...hidden. people don't realize how easily exposed fasteners can be simply backed out with a drill and PRESTO, someone gains access. Especially true with an RV door. If your trailer door only has exterior screws, it's best to add a bunch of your own right through the inside door jambs. You can always use a bit on your Dremel and grind all those heads flat as well. I love your build.
For the access door that spanned one or more of the walls studs, how did you modify the wall to allow the opening while retaining the support the studs provide?
I added a second gasket when I installed it because I was worried about leaks. So far it's been good. It does let a few drops in sometimes, but way less than any of my old factory built RV's.
