Definitely like the way you think each step through. Tons of ideas and tips! In never used Wagos, yet. I don't have any on hand even though I do a bunch of wiring. Perhaps it's time to put some into my inventory so there won't be a wait period in the middle of whatever project I'm on... Really enjoyed this presentation!

Thank you much! I haven't been using wagos long but I'll be using them on every camper build moving forward. I'll also be using the lever wagos a lot more too. Any time you have a light, a switch, a usb outlet etc...Anything you might replace in the future. It should make the task a lot easier!

Amazon for the stranded/12v. I like the GS Power brand for that. I’ve tried stranded wire from big box stores and it’s not even close to the same thing, too rigid, less strands, thinner insulation etc. You can also search for marine duplex wire on Amazon. That’s another high quality option but I’ve found it hard to work with due to the extra sheath. I bought my 120v/solid wire from menards/Home Depot but if I did it agin I would use stranded for that as well since stranded holds up better to vibrations.

Can you just use a 50 amp 25 ft rv generator cord to a 50 amp receptable that is wired to the panel box coming from the generator?

I’ve never gone this route but I imagine that would work great. I would want the exterior receptacle to have a in use cover or mounted underneath trailer where it’s protected from weather.

WAIT - Time out... You only put in a 15A service (shore power)?? But ran 12/2 romex and installed multiple 20A outlets? Thats seems like a huge waste, to me. A 30 amp service would have only cost a few dollars more. Otherwise you could have just used 14/2 romex and saved money on wire, and used 15A outlets (rather than the 20A's). Right? When I saw all the 12/2 romex (20A), I was sure you were installing a 30A or 50A service. If you were not installing a AirCond, a 15A service is fine. But a 15A service with an AirCond, multiple 20A outlets, seems undersized, to me. I'm not trying to be critical, it's your build, do it however you'd like. But electrical, AC and DC, are my strong suit. I'd love to know the thought process on this decision.

Hey, thanks for your insight! I honestly think you’re right. I’m not sure what I was thinking. A household air conditioner will run ok on a 15a service but nothing more. I do have a 30a distribution panel and obviously have more outlets installed. I had the 15a power inlet lying around and obviously didn’t give it enough thought! There’s so many things to think about when building a camper and creating a youtube series on top of that. I just simply overlooked this. I’ll be upgrading to 30 amps soon. Thanks again!

Wouldn't you insulate first? Not aware of your plan.

You could insulate and then wire but in my previous van builds I would be fighting the insulation when fishing wire through certain areas. It’s a bit more straightforward in a trailer but I’ve adapted to always do the wiring first.
