This is a quick walk through of our cargo trailer that we converted to an RV. Here is a more detailed video regarding the mini split: • Cargo Trailer RV Conve...
I really like your layout! I've seen a ton of these builds, and this one is very smart. Loads of storage. Great idea for the bathroom to be in the back with the garage area, instead of in ( or near) the nose like most other builds. Plus, you showed me that I can keep my big screen TV and view it comfortably down the long way of the trailer. I'm definitely going to copy that. Thank you for posting...great video!
Definitely my favorite layout, looks like you could/can be comfortable. A lot of these just seem like it would be "non cozy" lol. Don't get me wrong people do beautiful and creative work with great skills and imagination but for me this is "IT". Sorry for rambling i hope you guys are enjoying it...
Meet in the middle, with the trim piece and find a neutral ground color of a different color. I would not do white, i would make it another color as an accent piece. Cool build.
I actually have a conversation I did also and I’d like to complement you … terrific job… I seen your Missouri logos too… I’m from Joplin Missouri myself…. Greatly enjoyed video
You guys did an excellent job, love it ! Except one thing... the ironing board !!!! LOL !!! Do you really iron while camping, LOL ? I don't even iron at home ! May I suggest a steamer ? They are small, will fit perfect in your bathroom or one of your drawers and they make getting the wrinkle out soooo easy ! Enjoy your travels, your "home" is lovely !
Thank you! We just use the ironing board as a quick folding base for the table, not actually for ironing. Also, we have decided the table is too big, so we will be reducing the length by about 1 foot soon.
Very nice layout and all the storage is amazing, quick question how does a normal toilet gets dumped, do you have a black tank or can give more details on how it works. Again thanks for sharing your amazing conversion.
The toilet empties straight down to a normal RV bayonet style connection for a sewer hose. The hose goes straight from the connection to the campground sewer. This has been working great since we always stay at campgrounds that have full hookups including sewer connection. (And we only use the toilet for #1) This fall however, we are going to camp at a state campground that does not have sewer connections. For this we have a ten gallon external tank on wheels that we will feed the sewer hose into. Then we will wheel the tank to the campground dump station to empty it.
Yes, we had that concern also. That is why we installed the second latch keeper www.ebay.com/itm/200890920212 and always keep the latch locked in the 2nd latch keeper. Also, while camping we unlock the rear door and have a barrel lock on the inside to allow emergency escape from the rear if needed.
The trailer by itself was 3,200 pounds. We haven't had it weighed since building it out, but we estimate about 5,000 pounds. We use a Dodge RAM 1500 to tow it which is rated at 8,000 pounds.
When we were building the camper we decided not to put in a stove or oven because we rarely used them in our previous campers. We do have a portable 2 burner plug in stove top that we can use on the counter top or outside if we need to. Most of our cooking is done outside on a propane grill. Thank you!
Yes! It was kinda scary but there are quite a few videos on RU-vid showing how to do this. Also, I saved the insulation from where the windows were cut. When we store the camper we put the insulation cut outs in the windows to help keep out the heat.
Yes, still need to finish the bathroom walls. Haven't decided what to use for that because if we open the door, we will be walking on it so the finish will need to be something that can handle that. No shower, we always stay at campgrounds with showers.
Very nice camper but do we really need to see what's inside every single cabinet and drawer? You could cut like 5 minutes off this video of you don't show all that.
Camera WAY TO CLOSE. It’s IMPOSSIBLE To actually tell the layout. Just bits, pieces, no connection. Could be close ups of 5 different vehicles. I’ve seen the John a few times way too close. No idea of the floor plan. REDICULOUS. STOP. Let your husband present because this is not your forte.
Step back people. If you dont like it just move on.. There's no reason to be so mean to someone who seems to be very nice. " If you cant say anything nice, say nothing at all".
