@@OmgitsAntonioIf you don't understand, it's because Carhartt makes stuff for people that do real work that lasts a long time. Sure it looks good, but it's not made to be trendy, or for people to just walk around in them that live in the cities. It just sounds really stupid to want to wear something, because a celebrity wore it, when it's an American brand that has always been just work wear.
@@greuju yes I know. I have a few Detroits from previous jobs. That wasn’t the bases of my argument though, it was what was said in the video and the previous message. And the kanye comment is not going off of fashion trends, I assume he wears carthart because he lives in Wyoming and it’s cold
@@OmgitsAntonio yeah I mean Kanye wore it when it was just at the apex of becoming trendy. I used to wear Arc'teryx stuff because some of my friends were snowboarders. What happened with them is exactly what happened with Carhartt. That makes sense though where I'm from is rainy and cold most of the time. So we probably get the four seasons fashion trends a bit faster. I actually follow Kanye's music and when I saw him in a car I was like what the.... But around that same time I was noticing it on Instagram too.
@@greuju quit being an old dunce. its not ab wearing it bc someone else wore it. its ab discovering it after seeing someone wear it. learn the difference
I work construction full time. There are more of us out there who actually wear certain things from there because of it’s use, like extra durability, thickness, etc. you’re not alone
My dad always buys carhartt jackets when he starting to plow snow so he can keep warm in the cold winter nights and im so happy that im starting to grow into his size so i can also wear his carhartt jackets
He's going for a very specific trendy fashionista look. I agree with you though, There's literally nothing wrong with Levi's, and they look great with carhartts.
@@greuju I still don't like those jeans. Not even on a woman it would look good. Levi's are good, but there's Ariat, Wrangler, Cinch, Lee's, and more better looking the ones this guy's has.
@@NoMusicTheoryyeah but that's not even close to true. Plenty of Carhartt products aren't made the same. Literally their jackets are the same outside of configurations of pockets, zippers, lining. You bought vintage because you like how it looks, and you assume that the newer stuff is made worse. It's made the exact same way. I have the Detroit jacket from approximately 1982, from my uncle. I also have the new Detroit jacket they just released. Literally nothing quality-wise feels any different.
@@MrDwightsimonyou're going to see trades BOOM again I have a feeling. Younger generation is being enticed by it more and more. No college. Immediate income. Useful skill. Work for yourself etc
I had one with the flannel lining. Awesome jacket and served me well at work for years till I wore through the sleeve material and finally threw it in the trash. Later I bought a polartech lined jacket and even though it had a high warmth rating it was no where near as warm as this jacket and it was heavier. Now I’m looking for a new one with a hood so I may try the Sherpa lined jacket.
I have the grey Sherpa lined jacket with the hood and it’s very nice. The material seems a little softer, almost like a well broken in Detroit jacket. The hood is awesome and probably the best part of the jacket. Only thing I wish it had is a draw string around the waist. This is my first year wearing it so only time will tell how it holds up but it’s a carhartt.
Everybody wants to look blue collar but don't want to do blue collar work. Try being outside 8 to 12 hours a day in the frigid cold or during the heat wave.
Found a version in khaki at an old Pentecostal church that let me keep it. Didn’t know Kanye wore it other wise I would’ve bought one, but I guess saving $100 isn’t a bad thing either
In Europe, no one knows that Carhartt, Wrangler, Dickies are the clothes of the working class. Carhartt even has a special division in Europe focused on fashion, the models are the same, only the materials are cheap and not durable.
You know what’s sick about being 35 years old (yep I’m an old lol) and spending the last 15 years doing asphalt/roadwork and also skateboarding /care about fashion?? I have a garage full of beat up carhartt jackets, pants of every model and color that I’d still rock outside of work…..until the last 5-8 years no I can’t wear my shit anywhere without being afraid of people think I’m a cat like this dude 😂😂….so depressing lol😂. Also yeah I honestly cringe at the thought of paying designer prices to look like you worked in your work wear… smh.. no judgement on anyone tho pfff I guess… now I just let my younger brother raid my old workwear
