Caribbean Island Hopping to find Rare Ants

My family decided to take me on a Caribbean cruise, and naturally I took the opportunity to look for ants. I had to rush, only having a few hours at each stop, and if I took too long the ship would leave me behind! Of course, not everything went to plan, but I did my best to find a bunch of ants I had never seen before, including a bunch of rare species!

Are those parasitic flies at 16:32 trying to lay eggs on the queens? They seemed very focused on the Fire ants.

Does seem like they might be phorid flies, I didn't even notice them while filming. Good eye!

Really hyped to find your channel, I’m not a huge ant guy but just big into ecology in general as a hobby. The way you present these ants is making me an ant guy though haha.

I started off as just an ant guy, but as I've gotten out into the field more and more I've started focusing on way more than just ants. I'm still by far the most knowledgeable on ants, and most of my viewers are here for ants, but I do try to show off a wide variety whenever possible.

Yours and antsant are by far my favourite anting video makers :) absolutely love a nice trek(s) thru the woods and it's proper woods to. In Europe we have "woods" but there literally just trees, like the tofu of forests bland 😅 great video, thankyou

I live close to a tropical forest foot path Im 66 3 heart attacks but you got me motivated to go there great video as always I havent posted on my channel for couple months but will try and put some new videos on there soon...I know that feeling of trying to look for ants when people dont know what your doing then having to explain what your doing lol....
