"Odessa", new song from Dan Snaith's great psych-pop project Caribou (formerly Manitoba). His new album, Swim, is set to be released on April 20th, 2010.
FIFA 11. Beautiful good old days. Miss every part of it. Training mode with KAKA...starting career mode, make transfers, build the team and do the best on first season...
Damn. The one, most single reason for me to try Fifa now, cause I reckon that's one of the soundtracks :D. I am a PES player and value as much realism as you can get from digital football, what's Fifa's sell?
How can it be that 13 years have passed and I only came across this masterpiece for the first time today? It just slipped into my Spotify recommendations. This is truly unique. I’ve never heard anything like this before. 🙌
To me is exactely the opposite: came across this in the winter 2010 and listen to it every day for a period of my life, then buried it, just forgotten until today, 13 years later.
I love everyone's comments about memories associated with this song... that's the great thing about music. One song means infinite things, it breaks up into a piece of everyone's consciousness.
The only memories I have are filled with pain. Psychological torture. This and other God awful and annoying songs that play in the Guantanamo prisoner torture soundtrack in the Pep Boys I work at lol
Taking it slow, saving up she Before she know it, all I ask before she goes home She's tired of cryin and sick of his lies She's suffered him for far too many years of her life Feeling low, and scared that he'll say Do you know how over time you drove her away Saving up for, the day when she goes The day that she stands up for everything that she chose (She can say, she can say) (She can say, she can say) (She can say, she can say, who knows what she's gonna say?) (She can say, she can say) (She can say, she can say) (She can say, she can say, who knows what she's gonna say?) Saving up for, the day when she goes The day that she stands up For everything that she chose Taking the kids and driving away Turn around the life she let him siphon away And I've been with you, for all of these years Tell me what I've got to show for all of my tears The times you hurt me, and treated me wrong Something had to give to stop this thing from going on (She can say, she can say) (She can say, she can say) (She can say, she can say, who knows what she's gonna say?) (She can say, she can say) (She can say, she can say) (She can say, she can say, who knows what she's gonna say?) She's tired of crying, and sick of his lies She's suffered him for far too many years of her life Feeling low, and scared that he'll say Do you know how over time you drove her away
FIFA 11 Neymar rising star of Santos Barcelona the best on the world United the best in England Bale as Left back in Spurs Beginnings of great Manchester City PSG without big stars And in Poland Wisła Kraków best team
I've always been into the alternative/indie/underground scenes since I was a child. Concurrently, my older brother was always playing FIFA and collecting his taste through that. This reminds me lots of childhood summers spent annoying each other and exchanging music with them (without admitting it)
My younger brother used to do the same thing, I used to think he was just watching me play but he said the other day to me that those music influences always stayed with him. So cool and I didn't even notice at the time
I was drunk in a VERY VERY cool ecentric cafe in Bogota ... drinking wine w/the manager who i made friends w/over a month.. needless to say.. we played this almost the whole time and drunk'n laughed and danced.. it was a blast.. thx for ur comment.. was a blast to the past
this is probably the first electronic music i've enjoyed in my life. i remember being a teen metalhead struggling for acceptance and everyone hated everything that wasn't metal/punk so much... one day i stumbled upon this song and something stirred up inside me. now i'm 26 and life is better. i always come back to this song that changed my life.
the first time I heard this song, I had literally just moved to Minnesota. a close friend drove the uhaul from Florida to MN so I could fly there with my son. anyways he and I went driving around the town I was moving to, we were munching on cheese curds and driving through the bluffs and we came over the bridge as this song came on. I remember this because the Mississippi River was flooding. we were listening to an indie rock hipster public radio station and we were loving it. they were playing old school punk and some newer obscure stuff. this song came on after a prince song and he and I looked at each other both befuddled and not sure wtf to think. we were laughing and making fun of it doing weird dances and then out of nowhere he looks at me and said "it kinda grows on ya!" I had been thinking the same thing. we always bonded over music. it's a passion of ours. he died 2 years ago. 11/24/14. he was driving home after work and crashed his motorcycle into a city work Truck and went flying right into an audi and landed on the pavement. I miss him everyday. I even wrote a song about him and put it on RU-vid. we'll always have the music and memories. #RMFL
Best shrooms memory on this album. Impossible to describe... It should be listened to on one-s own trip to experience the full spectrum of this amazing thing :)
someone once opened the door to a lecture hall I was sitting in and the sound reminded me of a particular effect used in this song. to this day, the image of that lecture hall's door comes to my mind whenever the song comes up.
I remember my uncle playing this album in the car in 2010 on a trip and it instantly hooked me. I think I was around 12 or 13 at the time. Soon after I downloaded it onto my mp3 player and played this album on repeat for the better half of a year. I had so many great memories with this album playing in the background. I’ll never forget it. I’m 21 now.
Takes me back to being 16 stoned on mushrooms tripping I. My back yard on a summer afternoon, with my old group of friends. Laying on blankets, looking at bugs, soaking in the sun, watching the clouds twist and twirl. Every tree in my yard and the fence had small faces and eyes. I miss those days..
+Jessica Mercedes ale im przybędzie fanów po tym :D myślałaś może kiedyś o stworzeniu swojej top listy?:) chętnie zobaczyłabym jakie jeszcze perełki słuchasz:)
This song reminds me and my friends of being in Majorca. We went without our boards and couldn't believe it when we heard skaters next door to us. Went to check it out and there was a massive concrete skatepark. The day after was a competition and we went to have a look and the Spanish guys let us use their boards and this song came on when it all started. Didn't get far in the competition but man was it amazing!
Not to mention the lyrics talking about someone with children leaving their partner who doesn't know that they're terrible. So a bit sad and creepy. Ya know?
I'm just smoking until I read your message .. moreover In french, we can heard "J'suis fonsdé, J'suis fonsdé.." what means : " I'm stoned, I'm stoned " ... xD

If the rumors are true about this being in GTA VI. Then this song sure is an awesome pick for the game. I can imagine the iconic sunset of Vice City with this perfectly when you're driving and hitting the waters; not to mention the police chases. Except, well, it is modern day and I'm sure its gonna work out well with graphics that are sure to be incredible. I cannot wait to see it!
I remember the first time I heard this song me and some friends were sitting on the top of my friends van tripping on mushrooms and drinking wine while he drove threw the neighborhoods and everyone we would drive passed we would yell CHICK3N STEAKKKKKKKKKKK !!!!!!!!! ....(sigh) I miss those days u havent had fun till your going 50 on top of a van tripping on mushrooms yelling chicken steak at people
pop appeals to people who dont care about how music is made or how original the track is. call it elitism if u want its simply appreciation of music made with love
Back around when this came out I signed up for a random 5k in my hometown. I got there late so started way at the back of the pack. This song came on my headphones and I remember the sheer glee of passing what felt like hundreds of people as this song blasted, especially at 3:01. Such an energizing song!
