I love your videos so so much! I have learned the importance of specific guinea pig care. I use to have a tiny cage with one guinea pig, dusty hay, tap water, terrible pellets, piece of fabric for the bottom of her cage, handling her disrespectfully, treating it like a toy etc. I could go on and on. I now have 2 pigs and I love them so much, I shake out their cage liner in their 2x5 cage everyday, change their beds when needed, clean it every 2 days sometimes every other day, I feed them fresh veggies, filtered water, sherwood pellets, nice hay, trim their nails etc. again i could go on and on. I treat them with so much more respect and you're channel has truly taught me how no matter how small guinea pigs may be they deserve as much love and proper care as a human would. I now treat animals with much more respect. Love your vids I appreciate what you do so much ❤️
Unfortunately I had to place my darling two guineas in care of a nice lady. Moving to a new place. I will always Love guineas. At least one consolation that they will have well into next year spring enough very specal wildoat tops, buds from fieldgrassea with in it dille, anise and variety of dried soft fresh grasses. Tip: Feed your guineas oats!! Always make sure that they have a full water bottle with that.I miss Doodles very much! (my late wife's favorite) Doodles is now 8 and half year old and still popcorns and jumps on cage. My housing situation was compromised by extreme nosey co tenants, At least my guineas are safe..
For a year I had prepared to purchase/adopt my first pair of guinea pigs. Personally thought skinny’s were weird and ugly. But once a petsmart employer let me hold a female and I fell in love. A few months later we ended up adopting a female skinny pig from kijiji. We now have two guinea pigs and one skinny pig and I personally think skinny pigs have so much more personality and quirky-ness compared to fluffy piggies but I absolutely love my trio of girls! 💞
Love your vids so much and I hope to get some skinny pigs one day I have 2 guinea pigs myself though! Can’t wait for more videos from you have a nice day Abby!
Such an incredible and well informed video! I loved all of the straight forward but oh so important facts! The cute clips of the piggies were a definite bonus!
Thank You I just adopted a small 3 month old male skinny who did not get along with other pigs. He's a bully Thank you for the tips. He loves me already and follows me every where.
OMG Thanks so much for the video! I've been trying to find a video like this! Thinking of getting a Skinnypig when I get my pigs :) Great video keep up the wonderful work!
Yeah yeah new video... Sis your videos are always helpful...Thank you sis... All your piggies are so so cute and you are the best piggy mommy... God bless you all...
We just got a pair of piggies a little bit ago, one is a skinny & one is a guinea. This video is very helpful, I just ordered a portable heater from Amazon, just to be safe.
This year, I really wanted to get a skinny pig for Christmas, so this video really helped me. I'm trying to note down a lot of info and good products for skinny pigs, so thanks for making this video, you help people out more than you know
Looks really weird but really cute and I am talking about the skinny pig but the normal guinea pig just looks normal but I will be able to hold a skinny pig soon and I can’t wait
I’ve found my skinny pig to be much more skittish than the other guinea pigs. I adopted him at around 1.5 years old so I’m unsure if maybe he just had less human interaction in his first home. He was an only pig there too. He doesn’t like his skin touched- just his furry spots, maybe that’s part of it. For such a skittish pig he sure does coming running when he knows the food is coming!
I just got a skinny pig a week ago :) her name is Hazel, when I got her, she had dry skin and super long nails, her skin is way better and she doesn't twitch when I try to touch her skin (all the time) now, her nails are still pretty long but I've only been able to cut her nails once because of the quick. I'm trying to get them to a regular size (one paw had very long nails and her nails are crooked on it..). She was from a shelter so she was probably neglected before she got to the shelter, but I really want her to have an amazing life so I'm doing all I can. (I did introductions with her and my piggies, it went well and they live together now, she still seems a little scared of them though) I think she was housed with other Guinea pigs that didn't like her.. she has strange ears (they arent like my other piggies ears, hers kinda look squiggly) seems like they were bitten at, except that they also look healthy so she could have been born like that, but it would also explain why she is scared of my guinea pigs, whenever they go near her she makes a high pitch sound, even though they are being friendly and sniffing her
Flash and Moca Sweet pig life I’ll be getting mine from a breeder since where I live there’s none and we don’t have rescues either. But really good ethical breeders and rescues can sometimes have them, gotta know your area and if in US know your state too.
It was very helpful. I already know I do better with furred piggies. I love skinny pigs, but don't know if I will ever have one, they are extremely rare where I live. My two favorite girls-Apple and Rudi. at the beginning and the end!
Hello I just bought my 10yr daughter 2 piggies and we have been watching many videos I saw a video of a floral hanging basket you sent to someone. Can you tell me where you purchased it I have been looking every where
Hi I was wondering how you get guinea pig hair off the fleece? I’ve tried everything but there’s so much hair. Not comfortable putting that in my washing machine.
Hi! My daughter just adopted a skinny pig. There was only one male to be adopted. We would like to add another one but am afraid they will not get along and we are not in a position to have more than one cage. Any suggestions on how to keep our little guy happy alone?
I always heard that skinny pigs should have coconut oil every 2-3 days. Is this true? Or is it just when there skin looks odd? Thanks for any help! I just got a skinny pig and I’m so excited!
I have 5 guinea pigs, one is a skinny pig and she struggles with keeping her weight up tho. I feed them all the same thing but I can see my skinny pigs bones. The others have extra fat and are pretty heavy (around 2 pounds). My room has a thermometer and stays around 21°c. Maybe should I feed her extra? She doesn't really run much. (to clear this up, she isn't very underweight as far as I know. She just looks skinnier than the others and I want her to gain a bit more.)
I would up it at least 2-3 degrees and consider putting an electric pet safe heat mat under where she sleeps. Does she have warm beds to go into like a fleece snuggle sack?
@@skinnypigs1 she has a blanket that she raps up in and she has a hidey with a blanket in it. I don't have snuggle sacks because I have no idea where to buy them (i've looked for them on Amazon). I'll raise the heat a bit
I’m having a problem with one of my guinea pigs, he has hair. A couple of days ago he seemed to be passed out like so I put him in cold water to wake up him. Which he did and then he seemed to be stuff then I noticed on on the side of his back there was this white pus. I cleaned him and it smelt horrible and I cleaned him again the next day and now the puss is black grayish. I don’t know what happened the room they stay in is always cool and their cages or cleaned regularly. I haven’t had this one for long I got him off Craigslist along with another one. All my other ones seem to be doing just fine. But he’s separated from the others for now. Any idea what could’ve happened to him? Btw he’s about 2 years old
this is totally out of context but should i be giving my guinea pigs 1 vitamin C tablet a day?? they're 1 month old and what type of food should i be feeding them in the morning? they have been peeing out the excess calcium like one of your pigs do but they do it a lot and i thought it was just pee marks until i watched one of your videos ! im concerned and i want to give my piggies a good, happy healthy life :)
