The Paphiopedilum orchid has been one of the most sought after orchids for quite some time now. Most have been collected and cultivated through civilized ways, but some continue to harvest them through illegal means which contribute to this orchid's decline around the world. They are very easy to care for and a show stopping orchid that simply must be in any serious grower's collection. Make sure you watch the entire video to learn how to keep yours thriving! My aunt and Uncle bought a retirement home by a lake with two acres of wooded area in Cloyne Ontario Canada (southern Ontario).I lamdscaped the main property 150.000 worth (they were rich), We went for a walk on the wooded side and I was astonished that my Aunt did not know what they were as she is an avid gardener. A good sized area there was covered with the pink and yellow ones. I was so proud that I knew they were lady slippers and she did not HAHA. They are gorgeous and that was 20 years ago and they are still there doing fine. Goggle houses for sale in Cloyne Ontario it is the 2 story stucco house with an 8000 square foot interlocking patio red brick.with terraced gardens BEAUTIFUL...LOL

It is a gorgeous specimen! I was either wanting a purplish looking one, or a yellow one and I was so happy to get the one I got! Next will be the yellow one. Bo and Salem both said hi!

😁- when I first one on miss orchid girl! I was what’s the hype- then I saw one upfront and I fell in love. I two American hybrids and seedling paph kind Edward. 3 spikes on hybrids. I’m in love!!

She was one of the first youtubers I started following religiously. I love seeing all the plants she has. It makes me feel that much better about my situation! lol. I love my paph. If I ever lost him I would be so upset!!! Not gonna think about it! Did you say three spikes on hybrids?! Wow, now I'm in love!!

When all types of other orchids are pretty and fluffy, cuddly.. pahps are like the snobby tall kind e.g. 2:50 "What? Look at me! adore me!"

These are native to north America, they do fine with very very low temps, in fact they need that winter rest period.

I’ve only heard of people getting mealy bugs on paphs, have you had other pests?

I got mine recently, but the flower lasted only for few days. I think it was stress when bringing it home. Now what should I do? Do I repot it? Cause it is potted directly in a decorative pot and I have no idea what the medium is being used... tried to check it and felt like rock.

Hi, I have a couple of Paphs and mostly Phals. My Paphiopedilum's leaves are yellowing. Do you know why this would happen?

It's mainly a sign of aging. If the bottom leaves are doing it this is normal. When you really need to worry is if newer leaves are doing it. Is this a problem with newer leaves?
