Hello everyone!! Thank you so much for all your love and support! Please make sure to like this video and subscribe for more (70% of our viewers are not subscribed yet). Maraming Salamat and Gob Bless!💗😘 We did some search and we've found this: Cariñosa is a Philippine dance of colonial era origin from the Maria Clara suite of Philippine folk dances, where the fan or handkerchief plays an instrumental role as it places the couple in romance scenario. The dance originated in Panay Island in the Visayan Islands and was introduced by the Spaniards during their colonization of the Philippines. It is related to some of the Spanish dances like the bolero and the Mexican dance Jarabe Tapatio or the Mexican Hat Dance. (Source: wikipedia)

cariniosa is danced by those who are courting during the Spanish conquest, they do not hold it because it is forbidden as long as they are getting married and the man can hold the woman out of respect

Fernando got the meaning of carinosa right. It's actually a dance about how a lady and a gentlemen show affection during courtship stage. However, there are no physical touching involved during courtship since in the early Philippines, if a man should touch a hand of a lady, he should automatically marry her. Filipinos then are very conservative that a man can only hold his lady's hand when they are already engaged.

cariñosa is a popular folk dance that was introduced to the country by the Spaniards when they arrived in the 16th century. The cariñosa is a much-loved folk dance in the Philippines. Spanish in origin, it is regarded as a national dance by scholars, and the characteristic shy behavior of the female dancer is said to represent the mannerisms of Filipina women The musical instrument used in Carinosa is Rondella. They also used bandurrias, mandolins, guitars, basses, drums, and banjos in making a music.

Carinosa is a Spanish word for Loving... a courtship song. During Spanish period, people are conservative, No Touch is a way of preserving the purity of a woman which Filipino believes a woman should remain pure and a virgin as a special gift for her future husband. So even in our native dances, that is being practiced no touch.

Cariñosa (Spanish pronunciation: [kaɾiˈɲosa], meaning the loving or affectionate one) is a Philippine dance of Hispanic origin from the Maria Clara suite of Philippine folk dances, where the fan or handkerchief plays an instrumental role as it places the couple in romance scenario. HISTORY The dance originated in Panay Island in the Visayan Islands and was introduced by the Spaniards during their colonization of the Philippines. It is related to some of the Spanish dances like the bolero and the Mexican dance Jarabe Tapatio or the Mexican Hat Dance. COSTUME Originally, the Cariñosa was danced with Maria Clara dress and Barong Tagalog for it is a Maria Clara Spanish Dance when it was introduced. However as the Filipino people saw and imitated this dance, they wore the patadyong kimona and camisa de chino to reveal their nationalism to their country and other steps were revised or Filipinized but the music did not change at all and reveals a Spanish Influence to the Filipinos. As stated by the book of Francisca Reyes-Aquino, dancers may wear balintawak style (a native dress of theTagalog regions), camisa (a white sleeve) or patadyong kimona (a dress of the Visayan of people) and for boys, a barong Tagalog and colored pants. Because it is the national dance, the dancers may wear any Filipino costumes. MUSIC The music of Carinosa , . It is 3/4 in rhythm like some of the Spanish dances. The Philippine Rondalla are playing this music of the dance where it is an ensemble or an orchestra of string instruments in the Philippines similar to the Spanish musicians in Spain that comprises bandurrias, mandolins, guitar, basses, drums, and banjos. Mostly men are playing rondalla instruments but women may also take part. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cari%C3%B1osa

Cariñosa ist ein spanisches Wort. It means "affectionate" and it ends in "a" referring to a female. Ja wohl, ich bin Filipino aber ich kann deutsch und auch spanisch. Sorry, no Portuguese except "obrigado." I am happy that you two have decided to visit the Philippines for a long time. I hope you enjoy your stay here and will make many new Filipino friends in every place that you visit. Herzlich Willkommen!

The string instruments used are mostly banduria, which are played by elementary pupils in public school bands called "rondallas". Carinosa is among the many traditional and historical Filipino folk music and songs that have become classical. Some of them are being played by orchestras and sung by choirs in many universities in the US, Europe and parts of Asia. These include Rosas Pandan, Paru-Parong Bukid, etc.

Yes please, the folk dances videos!! It's a wonderful way to introduce a part of our culture to our younger generation and to the world. If I am not mistaken, every province has their own folk dance--like here in Pangasinan, we have the "Sayaw sa Bangko" and "Binasuan" as our province's most famous ones. Thank you for appreciating our folk dances and our culture and our country, as always. The Filipino people will be waiting for your return to our country. See you soon!

It's a traditional courtship dance. The intro is like getting to know you. The touching of the shoulders is like accepting the courtship. The holding together of the handkerchief is the process of courtship and the waving of the handkerchief meaning the lady is won.

CARIÑOSA (from Spanish word KARIÑOSA which means the loving or affectionate) is a Philippine Folk Dance classified as a COURTSHIP DANCE for men and women during spanish period. The dance originated in Panay Island in the Visayan Islands and was introduced by the Spaniards during their colonization of the Philippines. It is related to some of the Spanish dances like the bolero and the Mexican dance Jarabe Tapatio or the Mexican Hat Dance. It is the National Dance of our country, which is the Philippines. 😊 Men usually used scarfs while Women used folding fans to show their affection to each other like way of courting. Their gestures and mannerisms in using fans and handkerchiefs have different meanings like snatching or getting a red handkerchief (pañuelo) of a woman from her suitor, folding and tapping the folding fan (pamaypay) to man's shoulder and many more. 😁 The main melody (instrument) used in the song is called BANDURIA. It is a 14 string instrument usually played as the melody of the song. It is played by the used of guitar pick in a fast way of strumming strings (like plucking). It is also categorized as the soprano of the Rondalla instruments. Before, It is usually danced in every social gatherings by some ILLUSTRADOS or people who have enough fortune or rich in life. At our present generation, it is now usually performed during BUWAN NG WIKA (Month of August) celebrating our filipino culture and traditions in different schools and institutions and every Folk Dance Competitions. Also, Philippine Folk Dance is included in our Basic Education Curriculum that's why we Filipinos are in ways to preserve our heritage and culture. Hope it helps. 😁✌️

Yay! This song has been in my head eversince EZ Mil's Wish USA Bus clip. And I meant to look it up bec. I can sing some of the parts in my head. Lol. All Filipinos learn how to do the dance in school. It's a right of passage. The dance is usually performed during festivals or any events that the school or town celebrates. Thank you for featuring it! t It's deja vu for all Filipinos who have the pleasure of listening to EZ Mil while being proud.
