You are sooo right ,what a set ,the stiff folk don't know how to rave ,I would be raving my back off ... Nice one fat boy and Carl, great set , live you always x
We must protect Carl Cox and Norman cook at all costs, they’re up there with David Attenborough, absolute pair of legends, im nearly 40 and have been listening to them for nearly 3 decades and they’re just as good as they were back in the day 🙌

I was born at 83 Carl was alrdy godlike back then my dad used to listen to his music and even if I dont listen to him anymore he reminds me all the good times with my dad and for that I will always be grateful rip dad love ya Carl👑
Both probably said to someone, this weekend I can't, I have a set with a friend. And that friend was Carl Cox, and that friend was Fatboy Slim. Absolute legends.
Yes, in-deedy!! Thing is though, I was a moth to the drug light in the hay-days; no smartphones (didn`t exist)...high or not, just straight out party!! Nowadays.....mmmmmm. Times are different. It is I that has to accept that...all the while feeling pity for the present generation. They just don`t get it. I guess this is my Woodstock....
An interview with Carl cox he said he never plans a set he turns up with a couple of hundred of tracks and feels it as he goes ..... two great old school dj 's doing there thing
That's what DJs had been doing before these EDM events came up. With a sophisticated light show you have to pre-plan often pre-record sets. Entertainment is what the crowd's expecting. I'd rather go with basic spots, some strobes and a fog machine. The DJ does the rest😎
jack callaway true story. Carl is an absolute gem of a person and gentleman. Fortunate enough to work at clubs in Miami where he often guest DJ and during WMC was “going off.” He couldn’t be a nicer gentleman to me. ✌🏽👏🏽🙏🏽

@@ninalegra2099 - true Nina. I remember back in the 90's and early 2000's DJ Mag used to do the top 100 DJ's in the world. He was always a top 10 feature, if not number 1.
Carl Cox - one of, if not the nicest DJ on the planet. "Oh yes oh yes" Nice to see real DJing from real DJ's too. No programming, pre-recorded rubbish and no jumping on the decks, running into the crowd whilst the laptop does all the work. All hail these two legends.
@@hoi5162 do you know what a mashup is? Fatboy Slim uses them a lot, yes that mix is pre-recordered, but it's like a song itself, obviusly the mix between two different songs is made by hand
I loved watching Slim relax and with time command the room, Carl had control from the beginning, both so appreciative and respectful of each other. So refreshing to see something organic!
Paul Esposti You're absolutely right. Nothing but respect, and appreciation for each other's craft in the vid. These guys really love and respect each other. The music is absolutely awesome stuff from the old days which the crowd are clueless about , and then they even 'made music' on the floor😉
@@martinG33850 You must not remember brighton 2001. FBS is absolutely a legend in his own right. He's no carl cox, but he's well and beyond established in the industry.
“Dad, why is my sister called rose?” “Because your mother loves roses son” “Okay, thanks dad” “No problem Carl Cox b2b Fatboy Slim at Saatchi Gallery London.”
@@mauricioperez6424 ha - sure we would. . .we all still have plenty of medium for holding recordings. . . which were meant to be listen to not watched to start with.
No cameras allowed ? No cameras good enough in 2001-2002 to take any moving pictures.... yes you really are that old... No cameras allowed 🤔🤔😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Decades on they still sound like the albums I bought back in my clubbing days! God love e’m and may they be around for decades to come so my kids can keep appreciating their gift!!!!!!!!!
Really have to say!! Carl Cox is an absolute legend & always will be. Fat Boy Slim in their as well truly amazing, am 52 next week & I still love Dance music the same as I was when in my 20s keep it lit 😍plsx
These two legends have been my heroes for more than 20 years. And here they are finally reunited. It's a childhood dream coming true. I wish I could be there haha :D
Yes 100% there Carl Cox is from the rave vinyl era of the DJ ( Dreamscape etc ) So he's technically sound at mixing Today's djs well some don't have that technical basics in Djing , Unfortunatley they are not hired for their DJ talents or mixing more their social media ( popularity ) today we live in DJ world where everybody is a DJ , even my GP might have Rekordbox DJ ? Who knows But point being technology has made it easier in features etc in regards to nexus players, they just can't mix without it today , it's bit like someone today can't function without their smartphone , same for DJs today some. Crowds today only go to club's if they know the DJ is popular , they don't care about his mixing , in the rave days it was the reverse
@@FSwiftDJ I can certainly tell you there are obviously a big minority who do appreciate and know the true art of real djing whom are very passionate and loving of it. I am one of those people but ye tell me about it man. Watch Laidback Lukes vlogs about real djing and becoming a dj expert. He explains real djing and his roots starting off on vinyl and idolising the likes of carl cox and dave clarke for their style of mixing. Its sad that newer generations are forgetting the true art of real djing. Thats why you got to take risks and say watch me! :P Haha ;)
Pure dance vibes? Can’t stop moving, dancing? Feel the flow? Yes, sure!!!! 53:00-1:01:00. No doubt!!!! Piece of masterclass!!! Respec Carl and Norman!!!!!!
I've been at this thing for almost thirty years now and there is NOTHING that hits me / digs deep into me, my soul quite like proper house music - NOTHING! Suppose it is a spiritual thing ;)
@@cange30 I can give you 2 quotes on that: "Deep inside of me. Music" (Musical Freedom by Shades of Rhythm), or "Deep inside" (Deep Inside by Harddrive). But since you're an 80's guy, I give you a relaxed beat me back (beat me back or the sound by Reese & Santonio aka Kevin Saunderson). I've never imagined in that time it would have such an impact on my life. People saying it's already dead, let it rest. Yet each year (except this year), there are newborns that discover the sound of
i wouldnt call fat boy slim a legend ,he was a house martin, then dj,look at video ,slim shit himself and was so nervous,My point here for reposting is Carl cox whom ive meet a few times is such a lovley guy,So is FBS but Carl helps him throug this ,Even he can see hes struggling there, are you all blind.
5:12 its so pure that carl makes a look of pure realization of excitement there. Probably the same grin after his first transition at his first gig ever. So wholesome
I’m a big fan of the darkest minimal techno but this set it’s pure gold !!! Safest thing to play along people that aren’t into underground electronic music 🖤🖤
@@MissyIC In one, as its a charity gig, ticket prices will have been silly and out of range of the biggest fans. Only the rich. Id have given my right testicle to see these back to back. smashing it.
bit ripe mate, we went to this - just two old school ravers -true it was essentially a private charity party but tickets were still only 20notes, was a Thursday night 9pm when this was recorded so not quite fabric at 4am. was a chitta chat before in one room and then literally went off into another room straight after into this.. it may not look it but it was rocking where we were, total sweat box dripping from the ceiling..was very old school in that regards.. stripped back clubbing.. too many phones i can see in the video. think i had a about 4 ;pictures all night.. none will see the light of day : )
Listening to this on a Sunday morning NOVEMBER 1, 2020. I feel so Good. This is Hot. The Trees from Mother Earth has me Vibing more to this. Don't Stop Get It Get it. House misic ALL DAY AND NIGHT LONG. Love from Atlanta. A Native Atlantan.
Antonio Greene ~ Yeah, it’s interesting that they play songs with lyrics like = “Your Free Too Do What you want to Do!” When the money for this fundraiser is going into something that is going to Remove all our Freedoms. This is well documented in the amazing documentary footage called = “PLANDEMIC!” Full Movie Removed and Banned from RU-vid, However you can still find it on Bitchute. it’s one of the most important & fascinating documentary’s to come out this year and should be shown in our schools and colleges worldwide. i think that it’s very important that the public gets both sides of the debate and the other side of the propaganda. Please check out these two very important videos = 1 - “A Film That KILLED it’s Own Film Maker : David Crowley,,, Gray State” By Steve Kanterakis Followed by another amazing short video Called = 2 - “The Vortex - Arrest Bill Gates” By Church Militant They are almost a mirror image of each other. So please share it with your Nearest & Dearest. David Crowley was murdered because he was trying to warn us about what is happening right now ! We all must do our best to spread the Truth and wake our people up from a very deep sleep. So if you can, Please share it with as many people as possible before it gets Removed & Banned from RU-vid. The Censorship Continues but OUR WEAPON IS TRUTH ! God Bless (Bitchute) The Truth Will Always Leak, No Matter What they Do. FREEDOM PEOPLE 😕
Had the pleasure of seeing Carl Cox play his sets when I was in my 20’s, absolute legend and a proper gent. Also agree, Angie Stone - Wish I Didn’t Miss You Anymore is a an absolute belter.
Mother Marshy I used to see him on a Sunday night at little pub venues in Brighton pubs before he really took off, 1989.....Been to Fatboys house couple of times as a friends close with him. Seen them both a few times in brighton playing at clubs. At when fatboy put on the beach party & 200k turned up.
I seen them both in Detroit back the late 90s at club Motor Lounge, although not b2b. It would have been a dream come true to have been there for this set. Thanks for the upload True masters, living legends...nuff said
A privilege to hear these two masters of clubbing live, this is one of those historic sets. Me dancing like I was 15, later I will pay the consequences. : D
I love how Carl Cox is always really positive and they're both really having fun trying to make the crowd have fun too instead of getting discouraged or mad that the crowd isnt really appreciating these legends as much as they should lol but they were vibing! overall really nice set because of these two's love for music and positivity :)
Wow so many of my childhood memories all in this set and I'm from south Africa,at that time I thought they were produced locally cz they were all over ,it's true house is a universal language 🔥🔥
I want to drown myself that I missed these two legends! This set has just fed my soul, and these people don't know who the hell is in front of them, because if they did they'd be going nuts
I love that they were taking selfies with just anyone that handed them their phone. Such a classy move. This is an outstanding video. These DJs are fantastic fantastic!
This is what I imagine late 80s and 90s house parties to have sounded like So much positive energy in that music, not as aggressive or dark as today's rave sounds. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing, just weird that the new generation all seem to be going in that direction.
Spot on!! Used to walk into the club and just get lifted by the music and atmosphere!!! Nowadays you feel like you gotta keep watching over your shoulder
