I remember seeing Carl for the first time at The Eclipse in Coventry in 1990. He was mixing four vinyl desks with one hand while eating a cheese burger....classic!
Still listening to this in 2023! Who would have known how iconic he would be ! You are a true DJ!!! Top Carl Cox! 10 years down the line and your better than ever!!!
8:50 HE CAME, HE SAW, HE CONQUERED AND DISSAPEARED. This guy inspired me to dance at raves, damn my man was killing, it he was truly embodying the music.
@@beniota1141 There's not really a style, he's kinda just doing a bunch of what look like his own moves mixed with some basic footwork stuff. There's nothing about the style that makes it special imo, it's just the dudes flow is pretty impeccable. I did see some vaguely shuffling looking footwork in there but you can't see his feet so idk. What I can say for sure is that this isn't some well known dance style
Whats so refreshing is to see that no one has a single phone trying to film anything whatsoever, everyone is just embodying the moment and living their life to the fullest without even trying to prove to others their life is better. Compared to today's boiler rooms its insane.
Lots of them are staff and other DJs. Wonder how many of the others are being paid to be there. That doesn't diminish the quality of the set by any means, though.

It's so cool to see cox embracing technology. I remember he like many others frowned upon CDJs when they first came out as people felt it wasn't real djing. Of course, when you got hands on with them, you realised the incredible potential you could add to sets. Now djing has completely transformed with the inclusion of samplers and other equipment, where DJs can literally create on the fly, live versions of tracks. Just amazing what can be done these days!
People in the comments sitting here watching all the people dancing in the background are SAD. Enjoy the music and worry about your own life! These people are having a wonderful time and the atmosphere is BEAUTIFUL thanks to the master Carl Cox - it is what life is about!!!! Dont try and tear them down!!
Straight up watching a master at work... From 28:00 to 32:00 is mind bending to watch what he does and how effortlessly it happens... why he's the GOAT... Mad respect
I hope everyone in the video is in good health and living a happy life, but especially the GIRL IN BLUE! This video will go down as one of the best party videos of youtubeology.
if i was standing behind carl cox that close my jaw would be dropped the entire time just staring at him. i dont think any of these people realize what a legend he is
Now Sadly coming back 9 years later from my last coment on this video, sadly with a different feeling R.I.P Sommer Amari my heart is Broken but the way you both enter this video at 32:10 is Legendary grooving Babe.. your be missed forever we are all heartbroken love you forever.. for those who dont know Sommer is the Girl with the flower in her hair 32:10 minutes in "In Jus We Trust"
I'm not crazy for house music but this mix is amazing. Carl's hands are always busy, mixing tracks, adding extra bits of flare, and of course just grooving with the beat. It's like soulful DJing
I worked for a studio as an audio guy (basically a grip) for a while and I met Carl Cox when he was getting interviewed and at a few live show recordings for festivals. He was so friendly to me and everyone. Class act. Nick Warren is awesome also.
A real raver just dance and feel the music and is not worried about how dance others... a real raver knows what p.l.u.r. means years ago.. .. and who is me? who cares? but if you want to know... google "zybex psytrance" .. Peace...
One thing I admire in these people is that no one is getting his phone from their pockets and is taking pictures or recording videos for social media to show to others. They are just enjoying this moment. As it should be. This is living! Learn it, kids.
i dunno what you are watching man but people are pulling their phones out all over this thing, at one point i counted 10. the iphone had been out for 6 years
Luigi Irace Actually.... EDM stands for 'Electronic Dance Music'. Every type of dance music is EDM...... Avicii, SHM are Electro, Progressive and Big Room 'HOUSE' DJ's/Producers. I find Electro and all them really boring and basically.... shit! However, Carl Cox, Ejeca etc are the true dance music legends!
Luigi Irace Oh also i agree that you can't exactly say which dj is better because there totally different genre's but still.... this is tuns better lol
Joshua Milburn I think he knows what it stands for, EDM refers to the style that Hardwell and those lads play. They needed something to call that disgrace of a genre. Electro and Progressive house are both different.
